i think its much more easier for guys to bring ladies to their home, than ladies bringing guys to their home.well actually its not all homes, most parents don't like it when their children brings in friends who are the opposite sex to the house, some parents don't even want to see any friends at all, please wats your view regarding this?

Both males and females were not allowed that privilege until we were in the University, while we were in Nigeria. Girls only visited girls and boys only visited boys. But as I am over here, I would let all these kids comeover. I encourage girl sleep overs for the girls and boys sleepovers for the boys with strict parental supervision--to study and play their games of course. I must know the parents too. I want to know who they are and what they are doing. Things are a little different here. I cannot use that Nigerian agenda on the kids over here--or they will be out there and refuse to come home. I do not want them ostracized by any means. I can only advise and correct with the appropriate disciplinary measures if they err. But I cannot stop their friends from coming over. I have to monitor what they are doing while I keep one eye on Nairaland of course! na so so Puerto Rican girls and boys dey full ma house!

My parents know me very much! What am capable of doing and what i can't do! Why should they frown upon my male visitors when they were not with my on compus where i could do anything i want without supervising or restrictions! My Dad is more of strict but he never stopped me from receiving male visitors! My mom on the other hand is very welcoming. . . she would even be the one to ask if av served my visitor. But in the first place, i don't easily make friends, so they male visitors are kind of cousins, family friends, etc! And when am with my TV, all other things are not important. . . the visitor would nt feel welcomed by me but not my parents! One thing is, let your parents know who u really are! Lies lies lies all da time would prolly give them doubts. . . defending u won't be easy!. . . . As for my little boy. . . am going to be a real lioness!!

I will not reveal my past experience with my parent about allowing me entertaining male/female friend at their house at that time i used to be rebellious child long before my life changed. Bad idea!! I will not detail here! To my parent, no! For me as a parent, yes only strict parent supervision watching what my kid's friends are doing among gender.

When I was a teenager, I don't remember inviting or entertaining guys in my house. It never even crossed my mind. So I don't know if they would have objected. I was the shy type and I didn't have have so much friends in school. Just a few here and there who even lived farther away from me. My teenage life was kind of boring if you asked me. I think when you are in your twenties that hold parents had on you will lessen, abi their pickin no go marry.
So @ poster the answer is yes.

My parents are typical naija people. I can never bring boys home and as for females sure - just that I have to regulate their visits. Even till today, it's weird having a guy in my room because although I'm not at home, i'm not used to it.
