Champions League Myth?
« on: February 18, 2008, 07:08 PM »

For 3 years now, winners of the UCL have been crashing out in the first knock round.
2004 winners, porto lost to inter.
2005 winners, liverpool lost to benfica (of all teams).
2006 winners, barca lost to liverpool.
They didnt just crash out, they all crashed out in the group of 16 (1st k.o round). Its now up to milan to break the "curse" of the fallen champions when they meet (and hopefully defeat) injury ridden goners. But wit their string of draws in serie A, its really hard to conclude.

@bolernlay
if you want to look at history, then bear in mind that the man utd that destroyed arsenal on sat fell to milan 2 years in a row. So what are arsenals chances now. Milan sef no tight like before, but the arsenal team i saw on sat are no match for them. They're so gone

Liverpool really tried, rafa can breathe easier now. The refs spoilt the game for me, that red card was uncalled for and  then they allowed that viera handball. The scoreline would have been 3-0.
