hey people, what are the differences and similarities in the knowledge and workings between a Shipping vessel and an offshore platform.

The similarities are both of them are offshore and they are both oil and gas facility. The use of a platform and a vessel in d oil and gas industry is based on the function of the facility. so when u talk about their functionalities then it depends on the intention of the engineer that designed it.
