TOKYO - Toshiba said Tuesday it will no longer develop, make or market HD DVD players and recorders, handing a victory to rival Blu-ray disc technology in the format battle for next-generation video.

What's next for Toshiba? Would they join the Sony in the production of the Blue-Ray tech?
What about people who already have HD DVD?

you win some, you lose some. back in the 80s my old man bought a betamax over a vhs. (that cost us kids big time in video entertainment )

ditto in the late 90s, when we bought an n64 rather than a playstaion
