The 'Passion Of Christ' Movie
« on: April 26, 2006, 08:11 PM »

As I stood   outside the doors.
I tried to prepare myself
for what I was about to see.
But when I   entered the room
I had no idea that my life would be
changed so drastically.
I sat there in silence, as all did.
The room was filled with the flickering
light of the screen.
As I cried, only a little bit, too shocked to move.
I felt like my heart was broken inside me.
I wanted to cry , but felt it hard to breathe
I watched in silence.
As this man demonstrated what Jesus did for me.
It broke my heart and tears began to flow.
I felt helpless and I wanted to make them stop.
The pain I felt was like nothing I've ever felt before.
Then I began to cry out to God.

*********************************************************
I realized at that moment if He had not done this for me.
This love that I feel for Him now would have never come to be.
He laid in the temple yard beaten. His face disfigured from the punches and blows.

************************************************************

The robe he wore was covered in blood as red as a rose.
With every ounce of His strength He pulled himself to His feet.
Only to be knocked down again.
But all that He did was for me, what greater love shown by a friend?
When they lead Him away, His body was weaken by the
Pain.

*************************************************************

The Roman soldiers had no pity on Him and began to beat Him again.
They slapped Him in the face and knocked Him to the ground.
No idea that this was all for them as well.
That this man would one day rise up and reign over all man and save many from Hell.
As He carried the stake on His back to the place where He would soon die
***************************************************************

.
You could hear people weeping all over the room.
As many in the crowd cried.
We all knew what was next and it made it hard to bare.
All our eyes fixed on the screen.
All you could hear was the sobbing cries of the weeping.
The sounds of those mourning in despair.
The actor laid on the stake as they drove the nails in his hands and in his feet.

But I could see only Jesus there giving His life for me.
The movie became real, the pain was real, the tears ,and the blood.
And then it was like God spoke to me and said" There is no greater love. My son did this for you. He laid his life down so you wouldn't have too.He traded his crown inH eaven for a crown of thorns and a beating you would never endure."
I knew at that moment that this had to be.
Even though it seemed so unfair.
But the greatest thing happened! God caused my eyes to open and see. The crucifixion becamec clear.

I could truly see what really happened.
No greater love was shown to me.
Than the day Christ was nailed to the tree.

I saw this film for the first time on Good Friday, it is the most intensely emotional film I've ever watched. It was so real. The way it has been described above is spot on. My children and I sat in total silence, unable to move, barely able to breath. Tears silently falling from our eyes, feeling pain in our hearts that we've never felt before. How anyone cannot believe is beyond me. We all need to remember that every time we sin, we are personally responsible for every second of pain that Jesus endured for us. Who else in this world will ever go that far just for you?

I've watched it a couple of times and even got my own copy. I must say there never has been and never will be a Jesus film like this one.

I've seen many movies of how Jesus was crucified and stuff, but somehow this one gave me a clear picture of what actually took place that day.

It also lead to the salvation of many souls.  Smiley   Smiley  Smiley  Smiley

Great stuff!!!!!!

It was a very good movie but it was so graphic that I had to fast forward through some parts.

I saw it at the movies and when they showed the little demons I was scared out of my pants.
And when they were putting the crown thing on his head I was about to cry and throw up at the same time.
I couldnt fast foward anything but mehn that movie was good and it seem so real.
The fact that they didnt speak English but spoke I think Hebrew made it seem even more real.

Ah! "The Passion." You know, just before that movie came out, i'D been studying Isaiah 53, and something the Lord was teaching me about it. So when i went to see "The Passion" it all became most visual. I cried, and cried, i thought i was going to die from crying. When i left the theatre there was no shame in having a fuffed face and seriously blood red eyes, everyone had it. Even the most stone hearted person i know, was sober. I've tried watching it again, but, abeg (please) i can't. Once is enough for me. I'll just read Isaiah 53 for details and with it will come the memories of that movie. It's the most accurate and best depiction of "Jesus of Nazareth"

Whether from crucifixation, torrorist bombs, shootings, torture, burnings or other methods!

It was just a nice Jesus movie.  Maybe I've seen too many graphic stuff in my life that I'm not as sensitized as some.

Bah.  It's just a horror flick using religion as an excuse for it's miserable existence.  Pastors were sponsoring their friends, neighbours and disciples to go and watch the film to scare them into religious piety.  Bah!

Two good things it did was:-

1. Made Mel Gibson a very rich man

2. Pissed of the Jews big time

But I agree with Nwoke that most of the churches used it as a psychological weapon!

What I find amazing and totally abhorrent is the fact that we can all cry at a movie, but when a couple of million people die in Rwanda we do not bat an eyelid.

Something is definitely wrong!  Cry

Very sad and very true Cry and what of the war in Liberia that resulted in so many deaths? Where were the tears and the help then? Or Zimbabwe? The list is sadly endless. Cry

I really hate to say this but on this one point I agree with reverend.

Jesus will want us to rejoice at his death and Cry / enforce change, in a case like rwanda.

crying at a movie and ignoring real attrocities like Genocides makes you wonder if the tears are real or just hypocrisy gone on rampage.

Like the ongoing Dafur killings, which most of our so called
born-agains should be directing their attention.
