@ Mimoh,

NOw that we have a complete download, how do I get em across to you, i'll burn them on 6 cds 2moro.

@ adewale,

hope i won't lose previous downloads when I reformat IDM? I even doubt that because my opera is finding it difficult downloading again as you can see from there. I hope they won't throttle DAP too by tomorrow because this night I clocked speeds up to 110 KBps that's close to 1Mbps shey Grin

How we go do am na? Ubuntu is still 88% should I risk starting afresh with DAP? that'll hv 2 be 2moro, unless Grid replies then I can go get it from him and delete the 2.7GB of inconsistent download.

well the hard disk passed away today what a short life spent. a time 2work and a time 2stop working. In loving memory of my hard disk that opened my eyes towards ubuntu and linux in general. The body is to be shipped to segate hq for replacement my warranty is till 2011. does anyone knows how much it would cost to ship to segate hq, usa ? thanks for your concern

Re: Ubuntu Linux
« #234 on: December 04, 2006, 10:11 PM »

shipping cost should be able to get you a better maxtor hard disk. Seagate will eventually ship you another one which you will need to "sheep" back to them in 2 years.

Re: Ubuntu Linux
« #236 on: December 05, 2006, 08:42 AM »

Don't you hav younger ones? Get a new HDD and use your PC for experiments. Selling off won't be the best idea man. I won't advise.

Please help me get Grid's number. I need to see dude AsAP.

Mimoh, expecting your number/call.

I had to delete the IDM ubuntu download. I tried SAP but it refused to download. After 30 minutes, it's still searching. I tried all the mirrors including the netherlands, same old story.

@christino get a new hard disk in naija hell no this hard disk just helped me develop hardo phobia (just kidding) whats the assurance that the new one won't behave like this? and like u said intels get slightly weaker after 2yrs so should i still keep it or let go of it. i tried recovering windows it gave me command line i think i'll just reinstall thanks everyone

Re: Ubuntu Linux
« #240 on: December 05, 2006, 09:20 PM »

Why i advise against selling off is that you lose almost 50%. Your processor becomes noticeably slower actually but if you have younger ones or you need to do experiments, like install Fedora, Unix or even Sun on it and try your hands on other OSes or software that must not be connected to the internet because of piracy detection e.g. Vista (don't worry the koreans are working hard on Vista and office 2007, they'll be in Otigba before Microsoft releases them to the public, shey they are already with Dell and HP). Kiss

I have a P4 at home where I perform "crazy" experiments, but i stopped posting them because some people adviced it is against the laws of the forum to post "hacker" stuffs here, i did not read the terms of agreement anyway, i just clicked "I AGREE"

Meanwhile there's 9 Pcs of DEll Desktop, 512MB,40GB HDD, 14" LCD (Flat Screen of course) P4 3.0GHz for sale (NGN 50,000). Holla Jamo on this no: 08082092356 Cool

well i was considering a laptop and thats because i would be leaving for school anytime soon by His grace any way do u know if he has laptops in stock within 50 to 70. about vista its already open to a number me viruses. and i read an article that said dell was disappointed in vista and refused to ship it. it cost those guys 7billion and 5years and those who specialise in making viruses can't just wait to start searching for exploits and prove microsoft wrong once again

« #243 on: December 06, 2006, 01:21 PM »

@christino i called jamo yesterday and even sent him text to send the ones he had via email am yet to receive the mail from him and is centrino a good or bad option? i would prefer an amd but that would be more expensive i think
Christino (m)
Re: Ubuntu Linux
« #244 on: December 06, 2006, 10:25 PM »

@ Adewale,

50% money-wise. Vista having loads of viruses, gimme more info o. I know it has lots of security threats though. But i'd like to see what it looks like. (not vista inspirat)

Where's your school? If they don't steal laptops there, then it's a cool option. But i'd prefer a deskie (though upses don't last so long) Centrino is a very good option if the price is okay.

Jamo is now telling me that the Flat screen is not included in the offer Undecided but as for lappies, you can get good ones for 50-70k, watch out for Yahoo boys, they offer the best deal in town!

The amd is not so expensive depending on the specs you want. for a second hand, Athlon XP M or the Turion will be a better choice and if you can get a MAC, big boi, na you biko o.

Why are you going to school when schools are just vacating? Shey u dey travel out ni?

@ Grid,

Yet to hear from you.

@ Mimoh

Did you end up at Kirikiri, did not hear from you again, i'll give u a call.
