Problems With My Wireless Network Adapter

dear nairalanders, i have a toshiba satellite pro laptop for over a year but iv never used its wireless connection, recently i tried 2 go online wireless but it wont connect to the network, so please i need help!!

the wireles network adapter detects the network, & the device manager says my adpter is running perfectly, and the network is unsecured because all my friends can connect.

so far i'v tried 2 download d driver 2 reinstall but i can't do that from d site.

I'm using an atheros AR5005g wireless network adapter on a windows xp OS.

sorry but i don't understand what u mean by connection manager and config free?
