Hmmm,

In essence you're thinking of open source software whereas I am thinking of hiring people over there that I could outsource business to.  Yours is socialist, mine is capitalist  Grin

I don't know if people on Nairaland would be up to open source collaboration.  I am pretty sure though they would be down with outsourcing work to them.

Anyone else have anything to say (other than "hello guys")? Wink

I have an idea for a collabo.  We can come together to form an unbeatable team for bidding for programming projects on sites like rentacoder and elance.  By pulling our talents, resources, reputations and portfolios together, we can win many more projects than the total we would get we would if we were bidding separately for such projects.  This is because a team of programmers is percieved to be more reliable.

Who is with me?  If you're free, and you want to prticipate in this adventure, let me know.  I'm ready to roll!

This is really sad,  Nigerian programmers shy away from open source projects,  Whenever someone bring up the word "project" on this site the next thing your hear is money,  Ok i'm not saying you should not make money but it should not be all about money,  Alot of people here in the US start out working on open source project from there they gain experience and most of the time they end up getting a job,  When you write open source code you get to put your name on the list of developers that way people will see your name,  they will see what you can do, in return you make a name for yourself,  So far all the guys who are Nigerian based programmers on this site are not making names or money for themselves,

Maybe it's time you rethink about your current  strategy,  There are alot of people out there who can code better than you so tell me why someone should spend money on your so called talent when you can not prove youself,

If you are such a good coder why not write a code and let someone read it that way we know you have good logic,  Maybe the problem is alot people out here claiming to be programmers are not programmers but programmer wannabes

,  well Otunazero Site manager is now pre-alpha,  If you want to make money maybe you should work on that project first,  it will have two licenses that will allow you to write closed or open source  applications for it .

maybe it's time for you  wannabes to show us what you got,  Smiley

i like your speach. u c lots of this nigerian programmers think more of money than anything else,  c to me programming should be for fun,  someone said am a socialist well look i love money but nothing i love most than a name,  so the collabo thing should be tried we could start with a simple address book,  that way we can knu ourselfs better before we proceed to better stuff,

am working on a POS sys I would like to upload it here for u guys to help me test and report bugs,  its in java and by the way where do i do that here,

also has anyone heard of mybesthost.com  its a free webhosting thing but i haven't gotten used to their site but am working on anyway,  when my site is ready maybe i could but the stuff there for download,
