James Peters Has Been Appointed As Nigeria's Coach.
« on: February 28, 2008, 09:57 PM »

Peters, 56, is a member of the technical committee of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA).

The decision was taken at a board meeting of the NFA on Thursday, where a shortlist of nine was considered for the Super Eagles job.

The NFA concluded that they need more time to decide, and there is no indication as to when a substantive coach will be named.

The contenders for the job include former national team stars Stephen Keshi, Sunday Oliseh, Samson Siasia and Daniel Amokachi.

Peters was assigned to coach Sierra Leone last year, but did not take up the post.

Nigeria begin their qualifying campaign for the 2010 World Cup with a home game against South Africa at the end of May.

Other coaching appointments were made at Thursday's meeting, with Alphonsus Dike given the job of leading the under-17 team.

Who the heck is James Peters? Guess the probability of the Eagles returning to the Super Eagles is still very low. With a football association like ours, thats no surprise anyway.Selfish people, all of them.

James Peters took us to our worst outing in Mauritius 1993 where we were bundled out. He took players like Amunike, Okocha, Taribo, Tijani Babangida, Andrew Aikomogbe, We were bundled out by Ghana in the group stage .

So they sacked Vogts to hire JayPee Sorry oh.

I no fit laugh he he he

the peters nigerians know in sports has to do with boxing and not football. if i may ask, is this appointment under boxing or football?
from th way things are happening, i am seeing a situation where David Mark will be named the super eagles coach that is if he fails in his efforts to retain his seat as a senator and senate president.
wonderful nigerians and wonderful "NOT FOOTBALL AGAIN(nfa).
from this latest appointment, it is obvious that a farmer somewhere in brazil has promised taking up the job as soon as he is through with his harvest so an interim can serve while they prepare for this brazilian coach.
wow! how are the mighty falling? our football has joined the likes of Electricity, roads, water supply, security and politics on the sick bed.
i have said it over and over again, my mother can coach the super eagles but her problem will be NFA. they do not want a goad coach but they want a rubber stamp that will allow them do the destruction job they are out for.
efcc shld look into this game that gives joy to many nigerians. we have been robbed of our money as well as our happiness even our pride as football giants. what a shameful group of people called nfa
