why is it that my system is always hanging when i play songs 4 long or even convert audio files even opening multiple files, i don't know if it is from the make (tower p3 1ghz 384mb ram with up to date avg antivirus} please gurus what do u think can be the solution? Should i get a p4 with higher media card or something infact anything that can make this pain in the ass go away, please help

Duo cores are cheap now, just build a new pc and get atleast a 1gb ram

fine am interested in this upgrade thing but how do i go about it? Sell the p3 and buy p4(which i hardly want because of loosing my programes) and i have a limited fund, so is there anyother way of upgrading like maybe changing the motherboard or something?

A celleron 2.0Ghz mother board will do justice. Just replace the board with your present board. It sold for 9,000 naira your ram is still good to go

thanks all for your advice am considering buying p4 tower with 2.4ghz processor and 512ram then upgrade the ram to 1gb how about that?

@3d hunter,no mind these politician sons and daughters wey don belefull, i dey use p2 wit 128ram,watch film and play enough tracks,convert like anytin, i dey manage am sha.
@mickky,u fit dash me that tower sha o,if u wan go 4 trade center, i go appreciate am aftall nairaland na awufland.

@poster You don't need to buy ENTIRE NEWER P4 TOWER itself, there will be empty HARD DISK DRIVE, you have to transfer all old files from old tower's hard disk drive into newer hard disk drive on new tower. You can upgrade from 358MB ram (usually called memory chip) to 512MB ram and replace from current P3 processor (CPU chip with CPU fan inside) to newer P4 processor with new CPU fan. Please check with your motherboard manual seeing if it allow to replace newer CPU chip with new CPU fan. You have nothing to lose all your programs, still there on your HARD DISK DRIVE. Boot-up (restart) will AUTOMATICALLY recognize newer RAM chip and CPU chip to omit old RAM/CPU to be updated. Then click as follow: 1. Start button 2. Click All Program 3. Select "WINDOWS UPDATE". 4. WAIT until it tells you complete detection any missing WINDOWS patch(es) for ANTI-HACKER security reason to be added to your WINDOWS folder by downloading itself. If it prompts asking you to RESTART your system, DO IT! It will trigger to refresh new WINDOWS REGISTRY itself to protect you from any harm. 5. After restart, ALWAYS SCAN anti-virus MORE OFTEN, you should also get UPDATE adding new patch(es) too. (THERE ARE 1 MILLIONS VIRUS ATTACKS OUT THERE). 6. That's it, enjoy listening your music or movie.  |
