Kayode Odejayi ( bransley division one team in the premiership) is also a contender. That guy dealt with us. ( Chelsea). He deserves a call up to the olympic squad.

The best for now is Mikel. He plays well for Chelsea and performed well in Nations cups as well.
I know some people won't agree with that, but answer this: who scored Nigerian's first goal in Nations Cup?

@ Danson
Obi might have scored our first goal at the ACN but looking at Europe as a whole i would have to say Yakubu is Nigeria's best player at the mo

Yakubu my foot, that skill-less fatso It would be better to play without a striker than to have him on the pitch!

If an eye is what Moyes seeks then the one eyed man finds himself in luck. If an eye is the solution to his attack, then the team must be in luck.
I guess you watched Everton's match yesterday and saw the mess he made.
@all i hereby declare Yakubu's name banned from this trend!

Uche of Getafe

Dason do the maths
Uche 5 goals - 22 games
Yak 18 goals - 30 games
How can u say Uche has been better this season (I''m an Uche fan)

Abeg make una commot - Adebayor is the best Nigerian player in Europe right now. The man is from Ogun State but Naija Under-17 Selectors bounced him from the trials.

Dason, a striker is bought to score goasl, the Yak has done that and thats all that matters
The names u listed may not have scored too much when they were crowned (but i bet they all scored more than 5 goals) but they all went on to win trophies that season and were probably influential in their teams performance.
Make no mistake i like Uche (Who's a striker by the way) but he hasn't done enough all season

@chuckdee4 You claim to be a fan of Uche? when did you know him? I guess it was when Getafe played Barcelona and uche dribbled half of their team
To award a player as best the following will be considered: 1. Numbers of cards collected 2. Numbers of assists 3. Numbers of goals scored 4. Type of league played (if your team don't feature in C.L forget the award) 5. Participation in Country's league
and the rest which some gurus will post later on tell me how many as yakubu achieve ? yet he has more playing experience than uche

Dason, forget experience FIFA/CAF will judge an 18 yr old with d same standards as a 35 yr old when giving out awards.
Last time i saw Uche play was against R.Madrid where he scored the winning goal bout 2-3 wks ago
Both are not in the CL but in th eUEFA cup, i havent seen either play but the fact of the matter is that strikers are bought to score goals, which the Yak has done in abundance, non of them have set Europe alight in the UEFA cup so we gotta use their respective leagues to judge them no matter the opposition they face on a weekly basis.
The Yak doesn't only score, he's used as a battering ram for his team and creates opportunities for his supporting players (I can't believe i'm singing the Yak's praises) but its quite obvious the Yak has been more consistent than Uche

I agree with chuckdee, yak has been consistent all season.though there is always a love/hate relationship for yakubu, you have to admit that he has done well for everton, sunday's loss was just one of those things, can happen to anybody (ask arsenal fans).
