Tv In The 80's (nta)
« on: March 03, 2008, 11:43 AM »

Don know how many of you lived in my time but you belong to my day if:

You had to wait till 4 o’clock to get any meaningful thing on NTA
You would eagerly sit in front of the T.V at 3:30pm watching all the
multicolored lines while you waited for NTA come up.

The National Anthem was the first thing on TV

You watch Thunder sub  and Terrahawks  on Mondays. Pigeon Street  and
Bertha  came after.
Samanja was for 7:30 and you hated Newsweek on Monday nights

You watch Fragle rock , Sesame Street  and animal games on Tuesdays. Reach
out was at 5:30.
Your elder ones disturbed your flow at 6:30pm on Tuesdays to watch koko
close (Oluwalambe lord, Kasali open the gate), then you all watched new
masquerade at 8:30pm.

You enjoyed Voltron
http://blogs.knoxnews.com/knx/eder/2007/08/forming_like_voltron.html and
hated commander mark on Wednesdays. Renta-ghost  came up at 6pm then Kidi
vision 101 at 6:30.
Cock crow at dawn was up at 7:30 then Bassey and company (Mr. B is a
millionaire) at 8:30.

G-force  Scooby doo  and Super-Ted > were the deal on Thursdays; Wazombia
didn’t make sense then Village head master at 8:30pm.

Friday had the variety of Birdman , Galaxy trio , Ovid video , inspector
gadget , danger mouse  e.t.c.
Friday nights………,  can’t figure it anymore (some one else can fill in the
gap)

Saturday mornings were boring after 10am. 7-10am had WWF then morning ride
came up for 10am (very boring). The rest of the day had several annoying
sport programs; but Things fall apart came up at 8pm.

Network news was very boring.

The only good thing on Sundays was behind the clouds.

For the veterans amongst us, kindly fill in the missing programs.

NB: If you were born later than 1984, you might not be able to recall any
of these graceful memories.

WOW! Alleno. . . I praise your memory! I couldnt remember half of those show times but its all coming back!

I was most pissed at the Tennis games at one time on Saturday nites. . . You kept on hearing 15 love! 30 love! etc.
Well, since I didnt have a choice I had to watch it, eventually fell in love with it. . . They showed all the grandslams then!

Went to Uni with a guy from Kidivision 101, what was his name on the show again?! . . . think it started with a D or something

Then there was SPEAK OUT on tuesdays I think

Those were the good ol' days indeed, iice!

No more good programs on local TV anymore. . . what a pity!

u forgot :

telematch
tour of duty
C.H.I.P.S
Hawaii 5.0
legend movie on saturday nights. (i remember enjoying a glass of legend extra stout then with my dad)

and i want u help with name of a comedy show that aired around that time. it was set in world war 2 europe , characters played the roles of german and russion officers.

and there was this music video show on nta 2 channel 5, on sundays or saturdays . where we saw the likes the mc hammer, toni braxton patti labelle etc.

those days, i hated channel 7 so much that i tried deleting from the t.v system. nta 2 channel 5 was more "tush'. it was the best out of the three.
then cabeltel came and changed the game, but they didnt last long.
then clapperboard most notable for the chinese martial arts movies they aired.

DBN, i still miss DBN television. they gave us the latest movies and the latest music videos. i still wonder what happend to them.

i am tomorrow's people
i am the new inspiration.

bridge:

we got a message to bring to u
l

I am a child of the 90's but i can remember some of the shows you are talking about. I grew up in the era when Indian, Japanese (Ninja),  and Hong Kong movies were incredibly popular along with mexican telenovelas like "no one but you" and "the rich also cry".

I can also remember tales by moonlight on sundays, storyland on thursdays, speakout on tuesdays, kidivision 101 on mondays. Midweek sports mondays on 10.30pm, tonight at nine saturdays, my favorite day was saturdays from 4pm sports Grin. New Masquerade on tuesdays too, behind the clouds on sunday, didn't like it much. Ripples on friday. Third eye on saturdays 10pm one of my favorite. Telematch with that song Grin. Checkmate also well that one was in the nineties. Come in if you are handsome and rich show, whats the name, it was very funny Grin .
