I dey tell you e go reach your turn soon If family eventually receive cursing, you think say your 'counsellorship' go make any difference? We are not complaining. We just don't like it when some of you decide to look at things from your "blind spots"! FYI: The good news is that I am immune to curses. I have received my own fair share, and still receiving it daily on Nairaland. Upon all, do you see me hiding under a rock? No shaking I say. . . . . no shaking. We will all be here to dig it out! So it can only get better not worse. When ma "counsellorship" fails, I will resort to ma spiritual powers by fasting and praying. We all have our problems and too bad when we share them on Nairaland at the slightest provocation, they are used against us. Well, it is all good. The best therapy is letting it out even if it is on Nairaland. As you can see, when people who are not hypocrites get together, you can only be great friends. No hidden agenda. You know what I mean. One thing I love Islander for is that she is not a hypocrite and is ready to expose those who are. So if e reach ma turn. . . . . no wahala! The problem only starts when hypocrites jam non hypocrites on Nairaland. Of course the out come can only result in war!

sorry to intervene Mr. Correa said Colombia deliberately carried out the strike beyond its borders. "There is no justification," he said last night, snubbing an earlier announcement from Colombia that it would apologize for the incursion. If Colombia has announced that it would apologise, that is surely an admission of guilt and Chavez should calm down.

@JayFK,
Just have some questions or observations regarding your input. I'll try and relate them to the topic at hand.
Quote 1.While every one knows the US is guilty of this, would you say the same regarding Hugo Chavez? Isn't his escalation of this crisis intervention? I still have a hard time figuring out why he is so involved with this to the extent that he sent out troops to his borders ahead of the country whose territorial integrity is in question Nope, he simply sent troops to his border, his country's sovereignty was violated he simply reacted. Though I think he might have overreacted. 2. US and others lead the pack here. But tell me, isn't Chavez guilty of the same? How exactly? however there is a concept in Socialism known as "Internationalism" it is summarized by the statement: "workers of the world unite" I however do not agree with the concept. 3.Communal ownership of what? Property and Resources 4.The US is arguably the most tolerant country in this regard. Are you kidding? 5. Is this possible if communal ownership is encouraged? Communal ownership requires all to receive same salary irrespective of individual output. Communal ownership is diametrically opposed to capitalism. While capitalism encourages individual compensation based on efforts, communal ownership doesn't. Yes it is, communal ownership is exactly that : communal ownership, one of the beliefs that I failed to mention is state sponsored education until the end of secondary school. And those who wish to continue to university can advance in rank. Note that this is not detrimental as it is not solely for the good of the person but also for the Nation too. In Capitalist societies however it is used to amass property, and employees work solely for the benefit of the employer and not the Nation. You want the best of both worlds ehn? If a society is prosperous through capitalism, why the need to make the State a welfare clearing house? If everyone has the opportunity to pursuit of wealth and happiness, why should others live on the sweat of others when they could also be contributing to nation building? Read my former post, I stated i hold Socialist beliefs, I didnt say I was a pure Socialist, there's different kinds of Socialism, Sweden is described as a Socialist Democratic Nation. Chavez has decided to devote his energies to aggravating the United States It is not only the US that he is aggravating. The guy just seems to like attention, good or bad. I do not see any wisdom in his actions. His main problem with Colombia is because it isn't run by a leftist like him. I agree with you on this point, Chavez is not acting in his Country's interest, it is not in his Country's interest to get into a war with the United States Tell me, what rights does the baby have if any? To answer that, we would have to delve into philosophy and we wont come to a definite answer. However it is the decision of the woman that is having the baby to make, not your decision, no matter the sentiments you have on the issue.

Yes it is, communal ownership is exactly that : communal ownership, one of the beliefs that I failed to mention is state sponsored education until the end of secondary school. free education isn't always quality education. i'm a full supporter of public, private and missionary education working side by side. And those who wish to continue to university can advance in rank. what rank? and who grades this rank by the way?? the ranking system would only lead to an elite like the chinese communist party. In Capitalist societies however it is used to amass property, and employees work solely for the benefit of the employer and not the Nation. what if the employer is the nation?? doesn't that benefit the nation 2. people won't work to their full capacity if there isn't an incentive. capitalism creates such incentives. communist societies amass property too as seen in large chinese government corporations. employees work for the benefit of the nations since increased productivity leads to more tax income for the nation. back the thread. here is some revealing info. BOGOTA -- The allegation that FARC guerrillas regularly operate in Ecuadorean territory is not news to an 11-year veteran of the leftist guerrillas who calls himself Freddy.
The FARC ''paid [Ecuadorean soldiers] a sum of money so they could pass across the border with weapons, munitions, people -- all that is necessary to wage war,'' Freddy, who defected in January 2007, told The Miami Herald.
But the FARC rebels have been increasingly seeking shelter in Venezuela and Ecuador in recent years to escape powerful Colombian military offensives ordered by President Alvaro Uribe, analysts and officials along the borders said Monday.
The rebels also have found a more friendly reception from the leftist government of Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez, analysts added.
''They replenish their food supplies, receive medical care and rest,'' Javier Muñoz, a state legislator from Venezuela's Zulia state, said by telephone Monday. ``Many of them even have Venezuelan ID cards.''

My 7 point observations so far.
1. Its obvious we have a lot of really smart opionated people on N'land. Smiley
2. The political 'right' is represented largely by 4Him,4Play prob debosky.
3. The liberal left(Chavez & co) largely supported by almondjoy, RickBlack(has a Somali babe? Huh where them dey see such people sef Undecided
4. The right & the left may never agree.
5. Latest info indicates the FARC rebels supported Chavez while he was in prison on coup charges in'92 as well as his presidential campaign with money from drug trade, kidnappings etc.
5. 4Him & 4Play for all intents & puposes make the most sense Wink
6. We may be really hypocritical at times,we enjoy the freedom and financial stability the US system guarantees but yet criticize its policies at the slightest opportunity, I say shame on you Tongue Tongue, this is not to say Bush has all the right answers ,but i think we need to appraise things more realistically.
7. Like someone rightly noted Brazil's Lula has similar ideologies to Chavez but behaves himself like an adult, imagine threatening war because a drug peddling ,kidnapping gangstar got killed? Huh wetin we no go see for this world
Just my 2 cents Grin
@Jairzinho, Don't come up here pretending to be some unbiased "just my 2 cent-er". You're clearly one of those people who do not see anything wrong with US foreign policy. Obama Statement on Recent Events near Colombia's Borders - March 03, 2008 "The Colombian people have suffered for more than four decades at the hands of a brutal terrorist insurgency, and the Colombian government has every right to defend itself against the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). The recent targeted killing of a senior FARC leader must not be used as a pretense to ratchet up tensions or to threaten the stability of the region. http://www.barackobama.com/2008/03/03/obama_statement_on_recent_even.phpThis is a measured response that takes cognisance of the nefarious activities of the FARC and as it astutely puts it,"the Colombian government has every right to defend itself against the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC)". This is a clear distinction from the hysterical reactions exhibited by the booboisie.

So you think Obama's campaign stump speech will pull away Venezuelan soldiers waiting ready to defend Venezuela from the Amerilombia alliance? Venezuela has every right to defended her territorial integrity and same goes for Ecuador. Don't even dream that bad dream you're about dreaming, Obama, as president, will not be a war monger like your hero George W Bush.

Sure, subject to certain circumstances, the Mexican govt clearly has a right to intervene in such situations. Respect for territorial integrity is a 2 way street. If one country harbors rebels causing menace in another country, they are obviously not respecting the other country's territory.

I don't think you understand foreign policy. No, it is a violation of the country's sovereignty, even violation of airspace is a violation of sovereignty. And every country has the right to protect their borders. You do know that the US is harboring what Cuba calls "rebels" and they do not even claim "neutrality", the US even planned an invasion, "Bay of pigs" ring a bell? No, it is a violation of the country's sovereignty, even violation of airspace is a violation of sovereignty. And every country has the right to protect their borders. Are they not the same ones who backed Kuwait when Saddam Hussein tried to invade it and were claiming "Kuwaiti sovereignty"? harboring rebels and allowing them to stage attacks from your TERRITORY is an act of war. PLO staged attacks from lebanon in the 80's thereby allowing israeli to invade lebanon without objection from the UN or "international law". if the US condones such act, then it's basically challenging mexico to a millitary confrontation. Are they not the same ones who backed Kuwait when Saddam Hussein tried to invade it and were claiming "Kuwaiti sovereignty"? was kuwait harboring iraqi rebels?? was kuwait harboring shia fighters or kurdish fighters. the claim that kuwait was slant drilling was deemed false and basically propaganda by iraq. even the UN agrees the invasion of kuwait was iraqi agression. You do know that the US is harboring what Cuba calls "rebels" and they do not even claim "neutrality", the US even planned an invasion, "Bay of pigs" ring a bell? cuba had a right to attack such bases but it didn't.

Conducting Military operations on foreign soil is an act of war, period. But according to you "harboring rebels and allowing them to stage attacks from your TERRITORY is an act of war" so let us hypothesize If Zapatista rebels reside in the United States and are causing havoc to Mexico, I repeat, is Mexico allowed to conduct a Military operation on US soil? are they supposed to be given a free pass? How do you think the US would react? this applies to the other questions. About Kuwait, I'm just stating the partiality of the United States to regimes it supports. She had no right to intervene in the conflict.

Conducting Military operations on foreign soil is an act of war, period. this is wrong, pakistan has allowed the US to conduct millitary operations against al qaeda in pakistani territory in some cases. that wasn't an act of war. u are overgeneralizing the situation here. chad has chased rebels into sudan, that wasn't an act of war against sudan. I repeat, is Mexico allowed to conduct a Military operation on US soil? mexico has a right to take action if the US REFUSES to take actions against the menace residing in the US. of course mexico is allowed. About Kuwait, I'm just stating the partiality of the United States to regimes it supports. She had no right to intervene in the conflict, correction, it was actually the UN that invaded. the UN force was only spearheaded by american forces. i'm tired of restating my points. are u claiming the UN is partial now??
