I ACTUALLY THINK modenine is good and all that but freestyle and gino have very very good word play if not better than modenines'. freestyle and gino also flow with respect to the nigerian context unlike modenine who is more like mos def or so,ething.

@javalove, am not really the type to continue an argunment that will only go on back and forth without an end.I joined in this because i felt it was an avanue to talk hip hop in naija,and not to say whos's better than who. am not a mode9 hater,i bought his malcom IX when it came out and yes the boi has punch lines and all what not, i made all those comaparisms with foriegn artistes/MCs considered to be great and well rounded(jay -z,nas,and the rest)to drive home a point on your so called "inteligent rap" campaign and what it should sound like,afterall mode would want to be as succesful like them abi i lie? and how well would he achieve this if he can't learn a thing or too from them or did rap originate from his village? Apparently you eat,sleep ,and shit mode9(how sad) thats why your arguments are quite biased and myopic because you fail to see the bigger picture. @icezick if you check al my posts you would find out that i never really argued against 9's lyrical prowess , all i was trying to bring out is that no doubt the boi is good; about the best in the bizness but he still needs to do some more work Cos those other cats ruggedman;sauce kid and all are good too and they have something going for them that 9 still has to work at and thats making music and not just rapping. i comapred him to O.D Cos the dude also drops bombs which are not "commercial" as my pal java would put it. the few bars i dropped was to show that there are lots of unknown cats out there (that i personally know) that can also do what 9 is doing; ain't nothing to it. on the whole there is still alot of improvement to be done in the game by all concerened including moi . , and oh java no hard feelings; was just trying to push your buttons! am out of this joint! |
