After watching all these nice pictures of nigeria,  i got very sick to the stomach, i am a nigerian born and raised and for the whole 20 years of living in nigeria i have never seen any of those nice places,  and yes i have never been there,  but in a country you all portray this nice why do you really need to go to a specific place to see them,  and the question is how many people of the whole nigeria population really get to see this places,  as big as that country and its population why is it that  its only 1% of nigerians get to live that kind of luxury. where are the pictures of dead bodies lying on the street (i have seen so many),  where is the picture of the road from lagos to benin where there are many pot holes,  where are the pictures of nigerian police brutality towards the poor nigerian civilians, where are the pictures of the niger delta where there are oil's being rigged daily and the people can't even feed their family. where are the pictures of the nigeria local hospital's where are the pictures of bullet holes all over houses of people, where are the pictures of burnt houses and markets, where are the pictures of people sleeping under the lagos bridge and on the streets, where are the pictures of handicaps selling items all over the road and street just to make their daily living? Huh Huh Huh,  why are all these things being hidden from the real world only to make nigeria look like a better place? why are the rest of the 99% of nigerians living in daily struggle and poverty been forgotten?  Huh Huh Huh why is it that only the very rich can fly themselves  abroad to get good education because Nigeria schools are crap.  i dream of a better nigeria where everyone can be able to get good education,  good hospital care,  and at least average homes to live in,  a Nigeria where you don't really have to go so far and look for these nice places to see them,  i am a Nigerian and i admit Nigeria have a problem and these problems need to be looked into,  but the person who will make nigeria a better place has not been born,  and till then why don't we all start accepting that Nigeria needs devine intervention,  and only a few will admit this is true,  the other few rich and too proud will say this and that,  but remember brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, new born babies, kids suffer from this daily Nigeria Struggle,  so its very selfish of anyone to say because Nigeria have a few good places in only abuja,. (mostly) this makes it a better place.

You cannot say that within those 20yrs you've not seen any of these places. Even in Abeokuta where i stayed, and passing through any of the other states, there were lovely LOVELY places. From Ekiti to Jigawa.  And for the 207th time, We all know about those negatives. The point is that it's not all negative!. Me, all my years in Nigeria, most of what i see is that beauty. That's wot my eyes want to see, and that's wot they mostly see.

yeah i bet you guys have some relatives suffering over there,  when ya travel abroad your life is better. nigeria is better,  nigeria is so good why is everyone hanging on the boat travling illegally just to escape the suffering? grow up,
right now i am out of that country for good,  the only thing i miss is my family over there,  other than that,  i don't miss the nepa take light for how many months having to turn on generator when watching a movie, , don't miss the fear of travling from one end to the other for armed robers, don't miss the armys and police force  taking bribe and beating up people to death on their bike because they don't get the bribe they need. don't miss the hospitals who pump people full with medcations for a horse. and have no clue what the problem is,  don't miss the gun fights between armys and youths killing other innocent people,  don't miss waking up one morning and half the street is burnt down,  yall can praise that God forsaken country,  but till everyone can start living an avrage life,  that place is still fucked up,  all can say its good because you are somewhere where you enjoy good health,  but i stand for those who are still suffering the very very dark side of Nigeria,  who are fighting despiratly to leave. and don't even care what anyone says,  my opinion is my opinion,  you can take it leave it,  or beat yourself to death because i say that country is fucked, ( it is fucked).

Ruby_Pearl (f) there is no grammer in my post just simple english,  if you don't know what grammer is then you need to pick up a dictionary,  and to be honest,  i don't even care how many of you here pee your pants from my post,  only make my points clear that that country Nigeria is wacked,  and all you trying to be pumpus and proud,  showing off to the outside world that nigeria is good heck,  because you can't stand to say you come from a third world country? don't you know?,  nigeria is one of the most poorest country in the world,  all the oil it earns,  even from the delta where i'm from nothing is being done to help,  why you think the boys there have to take hostage of expert workers just to make their living,  and you all sitting there and talking shit. Woe on you

yeah good night fuckhead,  you bored thats why your dumb ass have to jump into insult because you can't stand the fact that my own point of view is diffrient from yours, can't get everyone to think your right. and thats just a fact,  nice pictures of nigeria everyone being proud and poumpus makes me sick, because i have seen people get shot,  seen people get robed, seen people get harrased by the nigerian force and more,  seen peoples homes and shops get burnt down,  seen people sleep on the street, (alot under lagos bridge) i only saw one post who thinks diffriently ( which is the truth),  so pardon me if i don't think that Nigeria is the same paradise as you think,  Thank goodness for diffrience of opinion,  but if you think my opinion is bad,  one thing for you to do is beat yourself up and spare me the arrogance.

Sammy107_d (m) Even in Abeokuta where i stayed, and passing through any of the other states, there were lovely LOVELY places. From Ekiti to Jigawa.
and as a reply to that post,  the country where i currently live in now,  i don't need to drive very far to see nice places,  these says,  from my garrage to anywhere i want to be,  is good roads street lights power 24/7,water and so much more to count, in a country where everyone potray that nice,  only posting pictures of the nice places and trying to say Nigeria is not as bad as people say it is,  well i don't believe i have to travel 300 miles to find anything good,  and travel to other states to find anything good,  in case you don't know from oil alone Nigeria earns more than 18 billion a day,  yes ( over 18 billion a day),  means makes more money than many other countries with good roads and lights, water, health care e.t.c and if all that money don't go to Swiss bank accounts aboard,  if half could just be spent in That country,  you wouldn't need to travel distance to look for good roads and power, or nice building,  and not till every Nigerian citizens starts getting the benefit of that oil money, which is simply,  good roads, steady lights, good health care, good education, till then,  all those fancy buildings and roads you all posting from Abuja means nothing to me,  Abuja is just a show off built by the government to make Nigeria look like a better place,  Lagos is been forgotten( i mean the real side of Lagos not only VI) ,  capital moved to Abuja because they don't want to spend cost on making Lagos look as beautiful as Abuja,  Lagos will always be the capital of Nigeria,  and Abuja is counterfit.

Ruby_Pearl (f)
yes i am such a bore to you,  1 because i am not here for your entertainment purpose,  and its the last thing i will want to do post anything nice for you,  my post aren't meant to be nice are just meant to say my difference of opinion,  so its up to you to try finding it entertaining or leaving it the way it is,  i don't lick peoples a$s due to how many posts they have posted or try to impress to make them feel better,  i post what i think which is way different from what you think. i present it the way i want it,  just as you present it the way you want it,  everyone got their right,  to how they want their presentation.,. i have read this post,  the only person who say Nigeria is not as nice as you all make it seems the only thing you got to say to him was,  shut up,  so i was prepared to hear all that when i posted my opinion here,  and trust me it doesn't bother me,

Ruby_Pearl (f) it looks like you give a shit more than you try to show,  if you did not give a shit,  you will not even reply to my post in the first place,  you will not comment me to shut up because i think differently than you,  so the headache is yours to bare not mine, when you come back knock yourself out and tell me how you feel,  one fact still remains,  i think Nigeria is whacked, miss managed, and fucked up,  you feel so sad about this? i am a Nigerian you are a Nigerian,  at least i can admit what is wrong you can't,  you need to grow up

Houstony3k,
I don't think there is anyone who is Nigerian that doesn't know the ills of the country. We all know there needs to be serious change. However, there are also nice places in Nigeria, whether we like it or not. Yes, there are people who struggle to eat, who are afraid to go out, who hear gun shots everyday. I don't despute what you say at all, but these positive  pictures are also true pictures of Nigeria.

I think instead of saying the person who will change Nigeria is not yet born, those who are born need to think about what they actually do to produce the changes they would like to see, even in a small way or to one person.

The truth is that many of us don't go any further than complaining and we aren't willing to either. Afterall if we all do nothing, what change will occur?

After watching all these nice pictures of nigeria,  i got very sick to the stomach

You just seem so disgusted that people are posting (mostly) nice pictures of Nigeria. Why is that ?

Aren't they pictures of Nigeria ? When one visits Nigeria, you would see the nice parts and "not so nice parts"
of the country. True or false ?

Would the pictures of the ghettos like ajegunle have made you happy ?

What kind of person is not happy to see nice pictures of her country   Embarrassed

Quote from: Houstony3k on July 28, 2008, 07:20 AM

why are the rest of the 99% of nigerians living in daily struggle and poverty been forgotten?

And please, I don't know of the Nigeria that you are referring to where 99% of them are living in daily
struggle and poverty. It is true we have poor folks in Nigeria, but definitely not to the tune of 99%.

You are making some incorrect blatant statements here, and that is what many of the people here don't appreciate.
