Shalom!

Can understand your feelings. Food and Housing are of utmost priority, likewise Security. If a government admits failure in some areas, it might attempt solution in another. This may be the state government intention.

Let us wish the government every luck! Hoping the cameras will not be removed and sold at Idumota!!

Some of the so called failure of government are the failures of the people themselves. Imagine stealing street light poles or the proposed cameras meant for security? I feel surveillance cameras should not be a priority for Lagos streets, it is more of a priority for banks and stores now.

Shalom!

@donmayor,

Are you, in a way, repeating the age-old saying - a people get the type of leader they deserve? We are thieves and in return, being ruled by thieves. What goes round comes round! So much so for the Nigerian situation. Sad

One would have to wonder if nigerian leaders are idiots or what?
Or is it just greed at work again?
Would the governor honour us by telling us how he intends to arrest the criminals/suspects captured on such cameras?
Thanks. Your Foolishness.

Yeah right, misplaced priorities. There are things that are more important than surveillance cameras. And who's going to sit and check the feeds? When they aren't even smart enough to tacke criminals physically, surveillance cameras will only complicate problems.

And, as someone said, they'll soon be up for sale at Idumota.

If it is privately funded, then I am all for it. Heck, I might get to benefit from that soon. Just hope that the people's privacy does not get trampled on.

Fashola will be a smart fraudstar if he's going to fund this project with the state's treasury.
