can i secure an admission for a master's program with a CGPA of 3.48?

That depends on the schools admission criteria (which changes sometimes). ususally, most schools in Canada demand a 2:1 equivalent but others will take 2:2. Also some schools have what they call qualifying masters where you take some courses for a certain period(1 year) b4 you start the actual masters, but for scholarships and into highly competitive schools, a 2:1 is the minimum requirement.
What course do you intend studying and which schoolsare you considering?

Hi N/Landers,
I;m aplyn 4 a study permiy b4 dis month runs out. I got admitted 2 Uni of Saskatchewan for a masters in public health program. I'll like to connect wit ppl who have just applied or still plannin 2 aplly so we could share ideas.

My other Qs are:
Wat banks can one get the draft from

The banks are listed on the CDHC website they change periodically so you have to check it to get the most current ones but i know many people still use zenith.

Thanks Debosky, Delta and Toni o.

I will get to contact them and keep u guys posted whatever the case may be.

Im still of the opinion that they could keep wasting time on the application if i defer the admission and fail to contact them.

I've got admissions to skoolz in other countries for the september intake and I may not be able to process any one of them if my application is still being held for the september entry with the CDHC.

Thanks once more, i appreciate your concerns

Yes,you can attach your own personal statement of account, its good that you don't have much money on it,cos if you have much money on the account ,they will be wondering how you have such amount  of money in your account when you said, you are a student but it will be OKAY,if you can attach your personal statement of account of maybe 100k.

well afterall, you have a sponser,so you gat use your sponsorer account and you must include your own personal statement of account of at least 300k apart from ticket fees.

well, once you don't have a sponser then at least must you have 500k in your account and include appointment letter from you work, all the proof that you are working, Id card, appointment letter, personal letter from the director of your company to the cdhc consular, pay slip, leave letter, Are you married ?if yes, include your marriage certificate.i hope you have not yet married or give birth cos if you have married or giver birth, this will really affect you cos CDHC expect you to have enough money to feed your family before going for a holiday trip.therefore you must have enough money in your account apart from ticket fees, goodluck

I did not understand you very well, when you apply for visiting, are given a visa ? Also have you submitted or you just want to submit study permit application, If happen that you just wnt to submit, then you must include your school transcripts,Its very important or you asked your school to send the transcripts to CDHC by themself cos there are some cases whereby the school will not release the transcripts to the student.

Really, there is nothing big about this affidavit of support that everyone has enquired about. All you need to declare in the affividavit has been stated in the canadian study permit guidelines. Just go to a Notary public  with the study permit guidelines and the notary public will draft it for you for a fee of N500 in Ikeja. Or you meet a lawyer and he will draft it for you and you take it to court to swear before a commissioner of oath. Nothing big about and please, anyone should not make a big deal out of nothing. Anyway, I say this as a lawyer.

About what kind of documents to include in your visa application, you can include as many documents that you want as long as you keep these two things in mind: 1. The documents must show that you have adequate funds to finance your tuition and living expenses. 2. The documents must show that you have strong ties to Nigeria and that you will come back to naija after your studies. Because that is the most common grounds of visa refusal Though, they know that once you get out of Niaja, you are 99% not likely to come back. The embassy people work with the notion that any Nigerian applying for visa is an intending immigrant, and you have to prove otherwise.  And beware, dont include fraudulents documents, just be honest all through.

But cavaet emptor, all you need apart from all the necessary documents in just God. When it comes to Canadian Deputy High Commission in Lagos, you need God to get anything out of that place. That is the truth and believe me , I am speaking from experience. That is the fate of Nigerians and I am sorry to say that we have to live with it. All the best.
