That's not true. If you go ahead, just make sure you carry a nice blanket with you cos na street you go sleep.

You are only guaranteed welfare if you are a citizen or PR (with some conditions); but then how much is welfare? You are better off working hard. That's the intriguing part of life - Challenges!

@ FIDELO n all others who followed my story.I got a call frm my agency last night saying i could come pick my visa on monday!
I hv to say they really messed up.Obviously the embassy had been ready to issue the visa same time as fidelo's but because the school we applied to suddenly gave out the spaces of all the students frm the agency(cos dey didnt receive immediate payments),there was no school 4  me to go to. We re-applied to seneca college n after waitin ovr a month for them to send the admission letter,i started harrassin the school with phone calls and e-mail n dey finaly admitted to hav misplaced my application and that of two other guys frm my agency! Apparently, they r not very efficient with their amission thingy n probably because ours came very late but my agency said they've had cases like that wer seneca says dey cant find the applications and they end up getting  admission letters the nxt day in the mail.
I didnt want to wait to c if dat wil happen in my case so Jst this last thursday,we reapplied again to yet another school dt said they had a space for me, i had given up all hope of making it this september cos in d schools i wanted, applications for the popular courses wer closed.
God really came through for me cos i had bin hangin in d balance.there wer times wen i regretted applyin in d first place n giving up d uk admission i had.All the while,i was praying ,it was about the visa.who would hv thought it'll be the schools giving me stress.Last wek, the owner of my agency went to the embassy last week n explained what had been going on and showed the correspondence b/w their office in canada n the schools.they agreed n issued out the visa without me paying my fees or showing a fresh admission letter.they said we culd sort it out either b4 i leave (nxt wk) or wen we get there since every other thin was ok

So, for all you still hoping or having hiccups on the way, what is meant to be definitly will be by the grace of God. Kiss
Gud 2 hear. dat rily took a long time comn but like they say everytin's gud dat ends wel. Wer is d Seneca College located? I'm already in Canada tryin to get settled n get prepared for lectures which starts next week after orientation.

hi nairalanders i just got my visa today after 4 months of waiting, thank u all for the advise and encouragement. For those that are still expectant of their visa its well, the lord will do it for u. For the benefit of those wanting to apply, below are the following documents that i sent to cdhc.
1) Admission letter
2)Transcript
3) Gmat result
4) My personal statement ie career plan
5) Receipt of payment of tuition fee
6) Bank statement of my sponsor for the past one year, the statement i submitted only contains 3.7milllion naira
7) Letter of sponsorship from my mum
Cool Certificate of registration and incorporation of my sponsors company, this will show that my sponsor has a means of livelihood
9) Personal income tax clearance of my sponsor, just was requested by the embassy cos i did not submitt it initially
10) Waec result and university notification of result
11)C of O of a land belonging to my sponsor
12) Valuation certificate of the land done by jide taiwo, this states the present value of the land

I heared that the reason why they refuse pple on the ground that they are not bonafide student is that for example if u study engineering for undergraduate and u want to study finance at masters level u will be refused, i also heared that cdhc looks at age.Note that it is not mandatory to pay full tuition b4 submittion i just did it to increase my chance of getting d visa, if i remember any other document that i submitted i will post it thank u all

I suggest you try your best to get into Seneca - it's affiliated with York University and you can secure admission into the University through Seneca. VIU and Conestooga are very new schools and don't have much of a reputation. As far as I'm concerned, if you go to school in British Columbia it must be either University of British Columbia (UBC), Simon Fraser University (SFU), BC Institute of Technology (BCIT) or University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC). The rest are ok but not worth leaving Nigeria to study in.

'Queen Mary' in the UK or Queens University in Kingston, Canada? If you want to do an MBA in Canada I would suggest going to Queens University, Rotmans (University of Toronto) or Ottawa University not Carleton. All the same if that's where you'll be going, make sure you make the best of it.

@ Franklin or Fineone what ever you call yourself, look, i pity you because this thread is for those who are seeking informations on how to study in Canada and since your case is about football, i don't even know what to tell you but if anybody here ask you to deposit any money to him before he can give you visa, better ignore the person and better still, remain in Nigeria. cheers

pleae im here to ask a question to this particuler topic, why is it that no one talk on here again?please im new in this site and i want a very good friend ok, im from nigeria, i play football here in my country nigeria, but no oppotunity to play outside the country, everything is stargnant here in my fatherland, im ashamed of my fatherland not my intention to be ashamed but bcs of too much sufering, i realy want to go to canada or any place to go to school play my football, im 23yrs old im cute im not urgly, my email adress is, fineone2yk@yahoo.com,i dont know if i have any reply how to see it here if is going to show me when i logg in or not and that is why i put my mail id, and my number is 2348036348188, please i can aford the ticket but i dnt have money to purchase 4 my visa, here is nigeria u cant legaly get your visa u must have big money or your connected, but as for me, i dnt have any body, i dnt even know if i have my self not to talk of having somebody, please i can serve any body as his or her boy,i can do any thing my father is late, i have no helping hand, thanks this wonderful site i love the site i value it much, i know good people still exist in this world and that is what motiveted me to write here, thanks, please do not ignore me please im begging in the name of the allmighty one, i dnt ask 4 money but a way that will help me atleast to meet to my kid ones needs,

my name is
FRANKLIN

Franklin, let me give you a quick guide; firstly forget about this thinking that you need a link to get visa, this type of orientation has destroyed many people's ambition. Secondly, you will need to work hard to improve yourself in Nigeria because some foreign scouts do come over to Nigeria to select players for trials, it is your duty to look for this link. your ambition to go to Canada to play footbal is very strange to me, they are not very good with football in Canada and I doubt how travelling there would improve your career. however, another clue is this; you may apply to the UK as a sports visitor there are guidelines to do this on the UKBA website. However, to get any visa to the UK you must be able to show evidences of employment and ties to Nigeria to do this you will have to use your initiative. a word is enough for the wise.
