I just discovered yestaday that My labtop whenever i connect to internet, a message would come up that i have 15min left which immediately it shut down. someone said it is a virus that i need 2 format d system. but i am not sure if it is virus. please what can i do to it?

sounds like virus alright.
Try this:
Start a command prompt and type in "shutdown -a" next time you see the message.
If it does not work out, then we'll delve deeper for solutions.

It's a virus. This is part of what is now known as "the common criticism of Windows XP". The major reason why Service Pack II was out. Microsoft itself couldn't fix it. I recommend you get a Windows XP sevice pack II. Some hackers were actually responsible for that auto shutdown thing. Don't update your windows using the internet explorer because if you're in Nigeria; you know now-home of piracy  . Try and get what I told you and you'll be fine. Good Luck!!! |

Yep!!! Its a Virus!!! You might want to first try running an Antivirus Programme through your Computer. Sth like Mc Afee or Norton. It might help at least u saving all your datas before it shuts down. And i would also advice u using an All in one Antivirus programme with Firewall and SiteAdvisor. You couldget sth like that from Mc Afee.
