I am in need of info on fence building. Has anyone looked into using a precasted fence? Or is it cheaper to build it from scratch on site? I was quoted about 520,000.00 to build a fence around 2 plot which included workmanship and materials. I decided to look into precast.
Thank you

Hello Yink99,
Was the N520,000 quotation for full fence for the 2 plots or just to secure it? It can't be right if it's for the full fence, i personally would have thought that precast fence would cost more than ordinary fence, considering that specialist has to do it. The cost will differs as it's will depend on the design chosen, the best thing to do his to get different quotations on different designs (from different specialists).

In time past, I have worked with precast and also in-situ casting (i.e casting directly at site. in building an ordinary fence for your home, u don't need a precast. The fence is made of blocks! Concrete columns can be erected at intervals to provide structural rigidity for the fence especially when your property is along the road. Industries may use concrete even precast concrete throughout.
Using precast for the columns I think it is out of place except you have the money to waste or the work requires unusualurgency. However, that cost can still be negotiated depending on the nature of the job. But personally, i think with lesser amount, you can still buid your fence. So negotiate further.

You can't use that amount for 2 plots is just impossible, you are talking of using concrete to fence the entire plots. Follow father ab advise.

I agree with Father ab, thirdeye and ololade 34 its imposible to build a fence thats about 1.5m high unless u want 2 secure the plot. Doing a pre cast will be 2 expensive u need 2 buy reinforce ments, make forms, cast and transfer its cheaper to use blocks
