ANOTHER UPDATE!!! Shocked

Yes O, I felt the need to share my expeiences with everyone so that we can learn from other people's mistakes.

Yesterday, Saturday, was quite eventful. I got the tyre sealant guy from Nairaland to come fill 3 cars's tyres with the stuff, my pathy included. Nice day and all. Was working till about 11am then knocked off for a while. Had a meeting with a client at 430pm so left my house in Ikeja at 4. To cut a long story short, I almost ran into a car that was parked on the speed lane between Alapere and Ogudu. But for God's hand on my life na another story we go dey talk. A moments distraction to look across the median to where there was another accident!!! Wink Wink You know say we be "Lagos Lookers" na!! Tongue

Ended up clipping the guys rear and the results can easily be seen. Have spoken to Jenju already and we are working on new fender and bumper. On monday, I will also check out the story with Sunny Motors who sell this type of pathfinder and post my findings.

Moral of the story, don't take anything for granted. This is my first car accident since 1992.  As we drive while talking on the phone, sending text, eating, looking around instead of on the road we should bear in mind the great risk we are taking. I know we are all experts but i tell you, take care!!

My "small" incident should have been a full head-on collision on account of my allowing myself to be distracted for a couple of seconds!!!

But at the end No Shaking and GOD PASS THEM  Grin Grin Grin

Enjoy!!!

fotodaddy:

I'm sorry to read of the accident but I'm thankful that no one was injured. You have great cause to thank God for his mercies.

A good body shop can repair that minor damage and return the car to tip-top shape. If, on the other hand. you prefer to replace any part, such as the fender or top bumper, I'D be glad to  purchase the needed part, have it factory painted and send it to you within 1 week.

Additionally, I will not require you to make any payment for the required part(s) for 3-6 months unless you choose to pay it off early.

Our custmer service will continue to be unmatched and we promise to continue to meet or exceed ALL our customers' needs.  Smiley

i feel so unhappy

let me share a story in addition to foto's story

before i had my 90 passat, i drove my parents, uncle & friends car's, and i always was on 120 - 180km in d city , highway is better imagined, i drove to see what would happen if i get to d end of d needle, no accident for more than 10yrs

then i managed and bot my 90 passat, d week i bot it on a Sunday, of d same week i had a bad accident, lost d whole front, fiber face, lights, radiator, fans , kick, compressor, i could not imagine it, though fault was from d other party and my bad brakes, but at that moment, as far as anyone is concerned , i am d sole cause, because i knew d brakes was a bit bad, and i still was flogging d car.

please people do not take things for granted, God will protect us all, AMEN

Thanks bro. God pass them but nothing spoil; REMEMBER: TOO MUCH MONEY!!!! Grin Grin Grin

So I had spoken with Jenju already to order the fender and bumper from over their when I remembered a lebanese guy I met a while ago who's speciality is body work!!! Smiley

Called him this morning, fixed up a meeting and met him today. Conclusion:the pathy will be going into the body shop tomorrow morning. And should be ready on Thursday. I will take pictures as the work progresses. Its going to cost 70K but the guy is really good and the dough included some kind of buffing and polishing that he does which will make the sheen on all the panels the same.

The guy told me that I will not be able to put my hands on the side of the because it will be so slippery!!! Grin Grin Hope that improves mygas mileage!!  Undecided

I am confident this guy knows his onions. You need to see his work. I can't believe i forgot about him.

But in all this, you know for me its like a scratch. No shaking at all. And I don pass the one wey my heart go dey bleed for sake of some toy or the other wey I get. Remember your heart is where your treasures are and really these things no be where my treasure dey.

Thanks for all the love boys!!! Wink

FotoD,

Sorry for wetin happen O. Thank God say nobodi wound sha, else na another tin we for dey talk.
To fix motor na small tin, not the least for a fotodaddy wey get "TOO MUCH MONEY"!    Grin

Great that you are taking it calmly, the way it should be. Save for more convenience, these things reflect our vanities and ego trips. Nontheless, a painful experience however we look at it.
Kai! that motor wey we all dey plan for since  Lips sealed

Let me share two fairly similar experiences within the past decade:
1) our first brand new car and first AT, day 2 after launching   Embarrassed
My wife's first taste of AT. Let go her foot from the brake pedal just after starting, with gear on reverse. The jump and panicky reaction almost took down the fence   Embarrassed
2) My current Accord, day 3 after launching!!   Embarrassed   Cry
Rear impact at Aba (front of NTA), enroute Calabar week of Christmas 2006. On the way to see the last carnival by Donald Duke. A teenage local was living out his ninth life at top speed and when I stepped on the brakes to let in an Aba bus driver that strayed into my lane, what followed was sustained screeching.
Just as it dawned on me it was an external source and check my rear mirror, the impact!   Huh
I have a good heart (as in healthy), else maybe na to faint first   Grin
As I came out to assess damage (many secs after impact), my knees bukled on sighting the damage to the impacting car, a Peugeot 504. All head/fog lights, front grill and radiator totally damaged! I thought the fancy stuff at my rear were gone.

PS: Make people no mind Nissan and VW, as de experience make me bow more for Honda O!   Shocked
Na only one small bolt I lose. No damage to lights, boot; minimal to rear bumper's neatness   Cheesy

But no wahala sha, those tins na just motor   Grin
Just be more careful as we bless the Lord that it was not worse - Romans 8:28

Bros fotodaddy i am so sorry for coming this late. Infact i am supposed to be the first to express my gratitude to God for this great favour in your life.Well, my GOOD brother PS 23 said it all. A good and honestman you are, No wicked experience shall have its way around UI can bet you its God that moved you away from the direct impact with the other vehicle because you still have so much to do for His people around. You know now bros i am one of them. Once again Sorry about it.

Let me say this without sentiments for those who care to hear in this forum, fotodaddy is somebody you can be dealing with and go to bed relaxed.

@fotodaddy
If the shoulder i see in the pics is that of Alhaji then your car is in a reliable hand. We use to meet somewhere in silverbooth gbagada officially and he knows me as a tyreprotector  guy.
Bros keep up your good works you can't satisfy all people, Some must surely find what you are doing wrong even when they see it done.

I still remain the only tyreprotector official in this forum. Like Fotodaddy said, all his cars are now fortfied against any kind of puncture, bursts and blowouts. Action speaks louder than words. I still maintain that a show of love for oneself should include that extra effort one has to make to be safe always including driving on 'solid' car tyres.
Big boys Move on solid tyres.
