What is happening to Naija's mortgage industry, with all the trust we have bestowed on the banks they still charge an exorbitant 17 - 19% on mortgage loans. Even the National Housing Fund is a farce, meaning govt has remained insincere despite inglorious lip service paid to this cause.

In the west this is the primary business of banks and with the mortgage crash in USA, we can tap that money and money is taking flight it must find a resting place.

Naira landers please comment on this, is there something I don't know about?

NHF is very much alive, just that we have folks who ride on the ignorance of people to play games.
I work with a mortgage bank in Nigeria, february we did accessed NHF for over 360 individuals minimum of 4million naira each @ 6% P.A payable over at least 25 years. How about that.

I know NHF loans are available through banks, who charge a lot in interest but I am not an expert.
