Responsibilities:
o Researches, plans, designs, and administers building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials
o Consults with client to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, colour, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time.
o Plans layout of project and integrates engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
o Prepares scale drawings and contract documents for building contractors.
o Represents client in obtaining bids and awarding construction contracts.
o Administers construction contracts and conducts periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans.
o May prepare operating and maintenance manuals, studies, and reports.
o May use computer-assisted design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans.
o Direct activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents
Requirements:
o Master degree in Architecture
o 10 years cognate experience in Architectural planning, designing and administration
o Ability to use IT in design and project management, specifically AutoCAD
o Ability to successfully lead a project team to achieve set goals
o Membership of relevant professional body is an added advantage
2. Civil/Structural Engineer
Responsibilities:
o Design or contribute to the design of major civil and building projects
o Develop conceptual design, project specifications, detailed design and engineering
o Have the flexibility to apply engineering skills across industry sectors
o Work with clients and stakeholders to develop solutions that exceed their expectations
o Carry out high quality and, at times, complex structural design and assessment calculations
o Review contractors schedules, specifications, drawings, calculations and material approvals
o Work within a team of skilled engineers
Requirements:
o Bachelor in Civil Engineering
o 5 - 7years relevant experience in Structural Engineering
o Able to make detailed design and assessment calculations using Excel and AutoCAD.
o Ability to work on multi-disciplinary and complex projects
o Able to assist in the preparation of technical reports
o Membership of relevant professional body will be an added advantage
