I couldn't believe this when i saw it, I must confess, they were among the first in Nigeria. It's sad that they are going out of business according to what I saw on their website.
PUBLIC NOTICE
April 3, 2008: GoldKOBO is placed under Receivership.
1. Effective immediately, Goldkobo Services Ltd will stop offering exchange services.
2. Since we officially started offering exchange services in 2005 to our now over 10,000 Nigerian customers we have had to contend with several challenging fraud schemes by the same customers we work hard everyday to serve. At all such times we have had to cover the losses from company funds because operating agreement prohibits them from giving out account holder’s information without a US Court order when we requested assistance.
3. As at March 31, 2008 we had our operating account frozen. While we await explanations from regarding the reason for this action, this situation has technically put us out of business. We have therefore appointed a Receiver in the process of winding up of the company in accordance with the COMPANIES AND ALLIED MATTERS ACT (CAMA) of The Federal Republic of Nigeria.
4. The public is hereby notified to direct every enquiry, forward any claims and or obligations regarding Goldkobo Services Ltd to the Receiver:
