worst-still is the cost of fixing the gear problem once it begins

I have tried convincing myself but I have not seen any reason to make me buy auto transmission. Power delivery is poor, fuel consumption is high, hyper sensitive! Angry

A friend spent N150k for shifting the gear to P when his babyboy was not completely at halt. Tongue If you are a sporty driver, auto will frustrate you Angry Angry

ALL,  hear NKC out,  and ask yourself, of all d cars marketed here which of em would be made in naija say in d next 5yrs? (fact! no be curse) moreso, all the makers of these cars,  what % of full manual do they produce compared to Auto? I tell u  can hardly get a new car now,  (since 2000) thats manual,   whether its a James Bond kind of driving O, cost of auto-gearbox=cost of car O,  I feel say na auto beta pass,  talking about the babyboy,  what about auto gearbox for the newer models? are they as problematic?

thanks for your opinion on the transmission problems of baby boy.i still think it affects only the V6 models.and how well the owner has flogged it and downshifted.still recommed an auto buy never buy a V6. Cool

I WOULDNT recomend an automatic for baby boy,, i am a mechanic in canada and a lot of this cars with high mileage have hard-shift problems.  Just stick with manual, cheaper to maintain.  I still want people to drive automatics so  that way i have to make a killing whenever i have to rebuild transmissions.  Why would u want a transmission that might break anyday, consumes more gas, and have less power compared to manuals.  Always shift it.

@ all i really don't see any tin wrong wit autos, it has to do wit u, your maintainance culture.
1 tin u should no is that autos are not tolerant like manu\al drives if u misuse them, sorry dey dump u when u least expect.
i can't even remember the last time i drove a manual though hav a manual 190E abadoned because nobody in the house wants to drive a manual.all the cars i use now are auto, d only prblem i had wit an auto was my 1998 babyboy, after mush repairs i had to change the gear box completely for 160k that is after spending almost 2ice that amt.
just bought a toyota first lady auto for my kid brother 8mts ago and he has been enjoying d ride.so folks it haS 2 do wit your maintainace culture maintain your auto u ll hav no prob.
