The first post on this thread has a time stamp of April 07, 2008, 02:09pm and said this car will be arriving in a few weeks' time. From nkc's responses, it appears this car has been delivered by now:-\ Am I missing something?

Well nkc, there's no problem that size fitting (225/60 in 16 rims). Thats the size I changed mine to. I bought a new set of alloys and fitted that size in CHAMPIRO (GT RADIAL) brand (about 16k per tyre 3 years ago). There's no problem that size fitting so enjoy.
I also got some chrome handles and a chrome antenna. Changed the audio system from the standard to a 10cd changer Sony system. Got a turbo gauge on my a-pillar (my car is a 1.9 Turbo Diesel) and a chip for extreme diesel performance in the ECU from Upsolute.
Also I have VAGCOM which help with diagnostics and changing some of the comfort settings of the convenience controller and the Bentley manual.

205/55x16 = 632mm (original size)
225/60x16 = 676mm (way too big, speedo will be way out, and accelleration too)
225/50x16 = 631mm - ideal replacement size.

@siena,
thanks this is just what i had in mind, thank u , so you're saying it aint going to touch d fenders, when i whell to d end, right?
@ fotodady,
i am in d market for pirelli, because i need velocity tyres, and to me they r d best brand for that for those of us in naija, os we don't have much to choose from. as for your audio, if u see mine in my old passat, u go laff me,its a wagon, and d whole boot na subwoofer, custom made.as for those chips trust me, i go get am soon, those vagcom stuff will be real good, i will order mine too, with my car, send me d model of yurs make i use check, because am still confused, want the best.
thank u, please sienna, add some points of upgrade for me
because this car must be fly

The 225/50x16 tyres are pretty much the same rolling radius as the originals. Even if the car was lowered 40mm, they won't rub the fenders.

@siena what do u think about, run flats, r they any good, and what d best tyre maker for extreme conditions, hot weather and speedy actions, just like d ones u use on yur rs4 thinking of having them fit it before it get here

225-section tyres are the widest I'd go on a 7" wide rim. @siena what do u think about, run flats, r they any good, and what d best tyre maker for extreme conditions, hot weather and speedy actions, just like d ones u use on yur rs4 thinking of having them fit it before it get here Run-flats are not very comfortable - the sidewalls are extremely hard. They also wear out a lot quicker than conventional rubber.

@siena
suppose, i decide one day to go, 17inch or 18inch or 19inch, what maximum ' J ' should i go on each and what maximum tyre size should i go with , like
235 by 45 by 17 etc, what are my max options for all rim sizes?
thank u

Original size: 205/55x16 = 632mm (7.0" - 7.5" x 16" rim)
Alternative 17": 225/45x17 = 634mm (7.5" - 8" x 17" rim) Alternative 18": 235/35x18 = 622mm (8.5" - 9" x 18" rim) Alternative 19": 235/30x19 = 624mm (8.5" - 9" x 19" rim) Alternative 19": 245/30x19 = 630mm (8.5" - 9" x 19" rim) Alternative 19": 255/30x19 = 636mm (9.0" - 10" x 19" rim)
These are all size combinations I've used on clients Passat B5.5. Most of these cars are really low, and no tyre-to-fender / bumper contact. The Passat B5.5 wheel arches are quite large. 20" rims have been fitted, but the ride was bone hard, not a size I'd recommend.

Nkc, I also believe you enquired about power upgrades for the V6 30V motor.
Apart from a remap, freeflow exhaust and sports cats, as well as a decent panel filter, there isn't really a lot for the naturally aspirated motor. With these modifications, you'll gain no more than 10 - 15 hp, not very noticeable for the money spent.
What I do fit out here is supercharger kits. These are G2 Eaton units, and it's been designed for the Audi / Volkswagen V6 30V engines, from 2,4 - 2,8L. Power goes up to a healthy 275 hp. Thes are complete bolt-on kits, and include all the software, larger injectors, the supercharger itself and all pipework, mounting brackets, drive pulley and belts.
Without replacing the motor with the S4 / RS4 2,7 Biturbo V6 30V, (265 - 380 hp respectively) it's the most cost effective, worthwhile addition in terms of power per £.

@siena, now yur r talking to me like yur son, first, the tyre sizes yu gave me can be run on stock suspensions and stock every evry, from those choices what d best bargain, it terms of car handling and all that, since u said 20s are stiff, which one from those is d highest i can go and still be funky. lol, please does yur supercharger kits, can i do it on my own, is it plug and play, because i want em, badly-380hp, is like what da f**k,i love it. how can i get em, and how much does it cost.and what things do i need to install them, are they all on d kit, waiitng thanks

380 hp is the stock RS4 Biturbo V6 30V. The most the supercharger will generate is on average 275 - 300 hp. More if boost levels are increased, but the default settings are best kept.
All G2 kits are supplied with instructions, and fitting time for a novice is typically 5 - 6 hours. Everything I've listed above comes with the kit.
Like most things that are custom built for a particular application, they are NOT cheap. The pursuit of power is expensive, you'll be looking at £3,250, plus shipping.

interesting, thats like 800k, perfecto, u said i can fit it myself, that means all i need is in that kit, cool.
pricey for now,so i will make do first with cosmetic modifications, been looking at vwvortex forums, does guys r ill, so after some cosmetic mods, then i will come for that supercharger kit, they sure make em expensive,
as for d tires, does specs can be run on stock suspensions right, choose d best for me, if it were u, thanks

also, i am made to understand that, the colour of d car is SILVERSTONE GRAY METTALIC, looking at that picture on d first page, is that d colour,?

Hard to go by the colour based on pictures. Once you pick up the car, simply post the paint code here, and I'll tell you. It's on a data sticker in the trunk, and also in the first page of the service booklet.
I'm running 255/35x18 Dunlop SP900's on my car, my rim size is 8.5" x 18".

Your size - 205/55x16 (632mm) My size - 255/35x18 (636mm)
My original wheel / tyre size was the same as mine, at 205/55x16, so yes, you can run the same size as I'm currently running.

Bose sound system. Wooden grain.
