According to the National Census, there are more men than women.  What do you say to that?

am a female but i want to contribute so its not going to be for just the brothers in d room.... dating an older chic i no big ... but then its got its cons too.
i once dated a dude younger than me with a year.. we really had fun & i succumbed to him as the male.. but the day he decided to show me pepper was when he started to cheat for a very useless reason.......i had to show him i was a big girl in all ways..... i walked out of the relationship & never looked back despite the fact that i was hurting... so u see,, younger boys can be dangerous because they love to play.. i have learnt my lessons d hard way....so as a girl.. nothing Will make me consider a boy younger than me in a relationship

As a matter of fact, i prefer older ladies. The older, the more experienced, y'know. I've gone out with two older ladies and i enjoyed the experience.

Well, as for me, it depends on the age of the said lady, if it is about 2 to 5 years older, I think I can still accomodate that. But the level of maturity must be there.

Yeah. Older women understand the meaning of love better than the younger ones that are still trying yo find out the meaning of certain things. Older women are better everywhere, though sometimes they nag alot and would also want to detect the pace of the relationship. Talking out of experience.

Yes I will, because they have matured thinking and will give you the full attention, care, love and above all will understand you, what you like and dislike, like no little/average girl will.  Reason is because she is exposed and knows what is called life. Wink Tongue

Yes I would date an older girl. I don't feel the most compelling arguments are that of respect and control. I believe in equality in relationships and mutual effort towards its success.

To me (an I have been in a relationship with an older girl) it is all about being able to communicate with that person, some people just naturally connect with older people and sometimes you just find that that special person with whom you communicate very well and can't live without just happens to be older.

If I find that special someone, her age will not play that important a role, I would give the relationship a chance (as good a chance as any)

Nigeria is a country where, in response to a customer's complaint, a bank officer would respond, "don't talk to me that way; if not for this job ... I am old enough to be your mother!"  This is a country where a young lady of 32 would use a belt to beat her 22 year old junior sister, a University student, and encounter no resistance.  This is a country where boarding house students in SS3 feel they have the authority to punish SS2 students at will.

Maybe it's just yorubaland, but I have reason to believe that I live in a country where 'respect' is more important than progress or morality.  Age, in my experience, is more than just a number.  The age factor would affect such a relationship unless both parties were raised outside the country.

To quote old-time cliches from some well known singers and artistes:

"What's love age got to with it??"

"Age is nothing but a number..."  Tongue

Truthfully, as long as both parties are:
1. Physically compatible...
2. Emotionally compatible...
3. Spiritually compatible...
and
4. Sexually compatible...

that's all that matters... at the end of the day, in every relationship, it's love and mutual respect that keeps it going... a lack of either or both can be a sure recipe for disaster in the affair... As long as both parties know their various roles in the relationship, and no one is taken for granted or disrespected for no reason, I can't really see the problem...

And besides, older women have one up on the younger folk, aside from obviously being more experienced in the ways of the world  Wink and knowing how to "treat" their man.. they have a broader outlook on life [either from being more matured or experienced in life, or both.. ]... they tend to look on the simple things of life that keep a relationship happy... and are less prone to fits of "drama"... especially regarding the trivial and mundane..

My fellow Nigerian men,

I am sorry to inform you that, even though many of us (excepting me) would [date or even marry an older girl, most Nigerian girls are not ready to marry or even date guys that are younger than them! (at least, the girls on this forum).

Sorry boys, but it takes two to tango! Grin

That one na story, in this age where men are scarce and so much competition among ladies.
Fine young Bobos are reigning nowadays o! They are much sought after by big time society ladies.

Yes i would date an older lady, infact i have only dated only just one  younger lady !! I think my reason is more of the maturity aspect  rather than age, other reasons would be understanding etc. Age is just numbers really when it comes to love. But i wont date someone that is old enough to be my mum. Infact I wouldn't date a lady older than me for more than 3 years. Reasons? Taste not really age again. Too old very unpleasant, especially when it comes to getting committed as in official.

i was once have a relationship with a girl, unkown to me at the first place that she was older than i, with that idea that the older mostly dominate, i become less intrested in the relationship.

I then dated another and find out the same secret about her. she is older than me with a year & 6 months, i decided not to go too far with her and that was the end of it.

Even the one i am trying to get right now, i have found out that, in her certificate she is 8-months older than me, she is soo okay to me that if i tell her she is older than me, she will bluntly disagree.

After a good observation, i find out that older girls have all it take to be attracted to.
And when a gisting a younger girl they feel you are telling them story or rather a sinful act to indulge in

I have never dated a younger girl, i always dates girls that are 2-5 years older than me, though not intentionally. But one thing i realized is when am trying to date a younger girls, they are always not smart and intelligent enough and can't handle a man.

i will surely marry an older woman

sure bros, older girls are far better and more matured. i dated a girl 6 years older than me once and it's top of my list as my best relationship yet. She never got angry, never raised her voice, would never demand anything from you. and much unlike younger girls, u don't have to waste precious time reminding her you love her 100x a day, take her to mrBiggs every weekend and all that stuff and nonsense. besides if u ever take note, conversations with older and younger girls are markedly different. the younger girls are more into the "waht will you buy for me, do you like my dress, when are you going to come and see me" kind of stuff, nothing stimulating mentally. older girls are more matured and are more into what the future holds for them.

i will not hesitate to marry an older girl if God permits, you can travel and be rest assured that your home is not going to go aflames because of one inexperienced kid!

I have dated 3 ladies that are older than me and they never see me as younger because i have all what it takes to take them out and the relationship is not just a month relationship, it lasted for long.
So, nothing is bad, what is bad is that you date someone far older than you

There is nothing wrong with dating an older girl. I have alway dated older women because they are more experienced and emotionally stable (so to say Smiley ) They know what they want and how to get it.

But the question should be if i would marry on older girl  Grin
