My Girlfriend And I Are Both AS

We have been dating for the past 6 years, not until 18 months ago I realized we are both AS.  Though I asked her when we started initially but she lied because of her fear of losing me.

i know the dangers involved in getting married also, it's so difficult to turn my back because I'm so much in love with her. please is any of you aware of any medical breakthrough that can prevent us having kid with SS if we get married apart from that which have to do with abortion of the fetus when tested SS because its mortal.

Something i can say about your situation is that it is glaring but you fail to see. Realising now when she's still your girlfriend is a chance for you to pull in the plugs. You are lucky she's not your wife yet. Please don't test God.

as a lady, i understand her fear of loosing u, but she would have just simply been honest! or wasnt she thinking of the future??   now what she lied about has finally caught up with both of u after 6 good years which makes it even harder. i personally believe such things should be taken care of before a relationship even kicks off, and honestly too.

well, i know this is very difficult for u right now, but as hard as it may be, its still better u found out now than later. i'll suggest 2 options here please

1) get married and adopt kids or
2) end the relationship now. _{thats sounds hard, im sorry}

most of all, ask God to help u now more than ever. there's nothing new under the sun

Why shld she lie for the fear of loosing u? And so is it better now at this stage & age of life? Did she expect a miracle, people don't cease to amaze me. The fear u run away from always comes back to hunt u.

When i first meet people (especially a guy i think i might get interested in), that is one of the first questions i ask. I'm AS too, and my mum had screwed that into my head since i was a teenager to ask that question first & be sure. And that has helped me a lot not to fall in love with the wrong person. AS peeps are quite fewer in number compared to AA which makes things better for all of us.

The medical solution is a deadly one which is testing the genotype of the foetus while the mother is still carrying it. The result of the genotype will let u know whether to abort the baby or not. And at that u are posed to gamble with the life of your wife, which isn't advisable.

Going ahead to marry her is a wrong idea, altho some people tend to be lucky in gambling. But i don't think u shld plunge in that direction.

It’s quite unfortunate. I’m so sorry. She could have savaged it early on. Things like this are always paramount. No matter how rich you are. My ex goes on medical check -up every forth night (SS) in an expensive hospital. Imagine! Save your unborn children of this torment.
Better still seek a professional advice ok. From my end; I hope your girl takes heart.

Don't get married to her.   Never you see problem and jump into it - don't try to see what God can do when you are soaked in trouble that will come after.
