Dvd Rom Problem

This is really crazy after about two weeks of not using the DVD ROM on my computer it simply doesn't on again, i've checked the cables and nothing is wrong with them. For no reason the light won't just come up. it won't even open. I tried using the manual eject still it doesn't light up. Any ideas Thanks
