Nairalanders and honet sports fans, who do you think should be crowned this year's world best judging from what is happening now. As for me, I give it to Chritiano Ronaldo of Manchester United, who is likely to become the first ever Premiership player to win the coveted award.

we have a lot of players across other European leagues, why people are talking of C.Ronaldo is that the league we Nigerians enjoy most and watch is the english premier league, that is why so many time you see people critising Fifa for not giving premiership player world best. remember the time of Henry, his form was so great that he scores over 40 goals per season and yet he was choosing as the best in the world. before you give it to ronaldo you need to check all the countries league German league, french league, spanish la liga, italian serie A and host of others and if you still find ronaldo as the best then he is the best in the world but mind you remember to chek out all the club players.

To talk reality sometimes is a big problem for some people but anyhow na matter of opinion so anybody can say whatever they like. even in england and europe in general recently comes out to say C. Ronaldo is the favourite and has no equal due to his fantastic perfomance this season. the only person i see that close to him is F.Torres so u should forget about messi this year because injury has ruined his chance to contest any world prize. when u are talking about messi have forgoten that E. Adebayor is also in his best of his form this season? So think before u post anything here o.

Lionel Messi 8: Dipped after a phenomenal start but still the side's most dangerous player. Wonderful footwork, vision and touch. Only lasted an hour Cristiano Ronaldo 6: A dreadful penalty miss and, despite some bursts of pace, was disappointing. Prone to hitting the deck at the slightest tap. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/apr/24/barcelona.manchesterunited1Messi - 8: The outstanding player in the first half. Every time he got on the ball he looked to charge straight through United's defenses and, more often than not, he did a good job of it. Lit up an already exciting encounter and all he lacked was end product. Ronaldo - 5: Won a free-kick, won a corner, won a penalty and missed the penalty - all within the first two minutes! Cristiano Ronaldo in a nutshell. Looked lively and his movement kept Barcelona busy, but ultimately, he missed the only clear-cut opportunity of the whole game, for either side. Could have had another penalty later in the first half, but the referee probably felt he was evening things out by denying the Devils on that occasion. http://goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=670462Now you decide who would you rate as your world best

I am a chelsea Fan and I don't really like CR. But i sometimes think, Who else will they give this thing. The boy has been outstanding this season. He is the reason ManU are where they are now.
Even The great Peter Cech voted for Him as His best player of the year. So why wont I.
Dont forget- ManU is falling at SB (the bridge that was built on solid foundation) And Liverpool will walk alone this time

Capello has also been impressed by the free-scoring Cristiano Ronaldo, but is not yet convinced that is the best player in the world.
He said: 'He is one of the best, but on that list you have Lionel Messi, Ronaldo, Kaka, Alexandre Pato, Cesc and Wayne Rooney.' http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=528903&cc=5739

Messi. . . . .Played in his natural position. Messi's team was playing at home and the onus was on em to display their pass-pass schitzo. He was lively but he barely made any impact whatsoever. . . .his runs and trickery did not work Van Der Sar or rattle the post. Ronaldo. . . .Played as a lone striker(not his preferred position). . . . .He had to rely on good services to produce something magical. On the day, his teammates were dire but he still showed his brilliance. . . . He could have won 3 penalties if the referee was brave. He was influencial. . . . . .Whose face was all over the tabloids after the game? Messi or Ronaldo? You do the math. To all neutrals. . . . . .These are the awards Cristiano Ronaldo is bound to win this season. PFA player of the year 2007/08. PFA young player of the year 2007/08. PFA fans' player of the year 2007/08. Barclay's player of the season 2007/08. Football Writers association award 2007/08. EPL golden boot 2007/08. Champions league golden boot 2007/08. European golden shoe 2007/08. Portugese footballer of the year 2007/08 European player of the year 2007/08(possibly)* World player of the year 2007/08(probably)* Neutrals can draw their conclusion.

By rolling on the floor throughout the game Brilliance indeed. . . . . .Whose face was all over the tabloids after the game? Messi or Ronaldo? You do the math.
Just like Riise's name was on the tabloids. he is the villain. the overhyped player. Give me any site that rated Ronaldo better than Messi. To all neutrals. . . . . .These are the awards Cristiano Ronaldo is bound to win this season. PFA player of the year 2007/08. PFA young player of the year 2007/08. Young player at 23 years Jackal is surely insane why not Lehmann or david James? PFA fans' player of the year 2007/08.

@ Dayokanu, You are an errorist. . . . . For someone that claims he knows more about football than Jackal, u sound very STUPID. Dayokanu, Nairaland's official simpleton does not know the PFA nominees for the season, are u sure u know your father's first name? Cristiano Ronaldo(23) and Fernando Torres(24) are all nominees of the PFA young player of the year award!!! http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11994_3413968,00.htmlRonaldo had more impact on the game than Leo Messi. . . . Pundits were just saying shyte. Messi was playing in his preferred position and also playing in front of his own fans. . . .Letz see how he copes at OT on tuesday. Ronaldo got a freekick, blasted the free-kick, got a corner, headed the delivery(goal-bound), forced the penalty on Milito and missed it. This whole sequence in a space of 2 mins is more than what Messi did in 60 mins. . . .

@ Dason4life,
The outcome of one single duel does not make Messi better than Ronaldo. . . Are u this fickle? Okay. . . . Adebayor is better than Kaka. . . . . .Adebayor scored in San Siro and Kaka couldn't. Thats the way u idiots sound now. . . .Why not wait to see what will happen in OT on tuesday before u start drawing conclusions. We have only seen the 1st half of this battle. . . . Letz see what Messi will do at OT.
