i have a project on hand at work and what gives me problem is the excel sheet that i have to populate.
the written code below retrieves some data from sheet 1 into sheet 2 a letter at a time.
this is the code to retrieve the first letter of the word in the cell
=MID(Sheet1!$B$116,1,1)
PROBLEM: i need to use the code for 15, 000 cells and i just can't write that out.
SOLUTION NEEDED: I need a formula to increment the cells by increasing the ' MID(Sheet1!$B$116 ' part with 1 so making it ' MID(Sheet1!$B$117 ' and auto increment is not working on my excel sheet.
PLEASE I NEED HELP URGENTLY ON THIS.

Looking @ your formula, u have used an absolute formula ($) that can never be increamented except u find a way of resolving it with relative formula which will allow u inreamental coping. If u are still confused, post back.

Thanks so much @speakout. i discovered it couldnt be incremented so i took to your advice and got this instead =MID(Sheet1!B6,1,1) i discovered by removing the '$' sign, it would be incremented easily. To think i was sweating throughout yesterday just for this- -- Thanks guys.And God bless !! |
