Somebody helpout with this,
I have some money and I'd already gotten a store which I've not paid for. Do i see clothings: wrappers, shoes , bags, undies, lingerie, night wears or have a bookshop. There are schools around, but i think book selling is seasonal and I've had this passion of opening a Christian bookshop. the rent in the area is about 10k per month. OR do i go into children toys,but somebody along the same line sell same thing and i don't intend creating unnecessary enemity. Which do i go for
Can somebody helpout with all these ideas?

You need to do a little research about the location of the shop. You need to get information about the kind of businesses that are doing well in the area. You may not be able to get the information by going around asking questions from your potential competitors, that should actually be avoided. Instead, get one or two friends of your or relatives to do the little research for you.
Secondly, you need to sit down and find out which of the passions you have is your favorite. At this point, do not consider the challenges or hurdles that you may face, simply ask yourself, "If everything were to work out the way I desire, will I love to have a boutique or a bookshop?" "Do I really want to have a toy shop where mummies and their little ones will come to shop?" Let your imagination run freely. That will help you to rank the various options according to how passionate you are about them.
Thirdly, use the result you got in step 2 and apply the information in step one to determine which of the options is most feasible in that location.
It is my strong belief that you will end up making a better decision that way rather than blindly picking one among the various choices.
Lastly, I want you to consider the overhead cost of runing the shop. At 10,000 rental per month, you already have a bill of 120,000 per annum. Beside that there will be other costs such as salary for shop assistance, electricity cost etc. All this must be well researched and written out so that you have a solid idea of what it will cost to run the shop per month. Then you will be in a position to tell whether the choice of business is capable of generating enough income to cover the cost and yet deliver profit.

Business idea I thought about today - Start a laundry service somewhere in Lagos or Abuja (Or other metropolis-like city). In this case, the proprietor offers to pick up dirty washing from customers locations (for a fee of course), and also deliver them after the laundry has been done. This business will be aimed at busy professionals, people living in high-traffic areas who attend functions and need their clothes drycleaned / laundered professionally. Maybe young, single guys or guys who have working girlfriends. . . Professionals, "big men" who attend a lot of functions, etc.
Fees could be comparable with other services in the area, but with a standard collection/delivery charge varying with location. For example Ikeja : N200, Ogba N250 etc. . . If properly advertised, having more than one client in one location would fetch additional revenue.
Of course a lot of research would have to be carried out before this, but I think it is an idea well worth considering. I've got an exam in the morning so I'll let you expand on the idea :-)

hmmm, mine's for the creative minded fellas. i started my business of hand-made greetings card last december season. i opted to raise around 10,000 ngn just to keep my pocket fat for the celebration. this turned out to be lucrative than expected. well, i'm now dreaming of making occeeeaanograpy a house hold name. i sold out 400 cards on valentine making around 40,000. now i had the big dream of investing 400,000 for the christmas season, hoping to go walk into the bank with a fat bag now this time. if you are good in artistc work, the sky is your limit ( though nothing comes easy). just keep your eyes on already-made hand-mades. I do not dublicate peoples work; i buy ideas and add to mine. i'll still be able to show samples of my work.

Lack of business ideas is actually why 8 out of 10 start up business fail. I believe, as an entrepreneur, if you really want to be a successful one, business ideas should be paramount. In life, people who are successful have always, consciously or unconsciously, made it a dominating thought in them, be it in business, career, or craft. Then when the opportunity comes, they had an IDEA of what to do. Your idea is your dream, your aspirations and all that you want to become.
For all aspiring entrepreneurs, personal development is one first area you must work on to be successful. Ideas are everywhere, needs are everywhere. I can bet you that if you have money and have no idea about the business you want to do, you could as well be someone who will not make a good businessman, husband, investor, insert more.
The only reason why people lack ideas is that they don't want to think. They want the easiest way of making money; buying stocks and relaxing in their house popping champagne while it grows, playing casino. They are mentally lazy people. I am saying that buying stock is bad. All i am saying that imaging you are able to come up with a unique idea, start it up, even if you don't have money, with determination and desire to succeed. Then it grows, you become an employer. The nation's economy changes just because of you. Your stock will never reduce unemployment rate.

PRENEUR, you have right! Many people can get money easily but most you must work hard to get the moneys. Many people think they can get the money only to say I HAVE AN GOD BUSINESS IDEA! I don't understand these people. You have maybe god idea but thats not enough. Idea is always first step to realise. That business what we are starting to do there in Nigeria we planned for month. its interesting when folks talk biz. however, i found out that in my experience when people and societal needs are primary in your mind, it becomes easier to provide needs that would make good money for you.
seemingly "uneducated" folks make a lot more by "filling" the gap. i am an aquaculturist among other things, i raise a unit of catfish for as much as 140 naira. one dirty looking young man buys from me at 320naira per kg and sells at 600naira. he makes 280naira in less than 24 hours while i made 180naira in 6 months. hmmn, i am starting a catfish retail business thats decent and lush and i am even buying from other farmers. i think we should all think proactively.

This has been a terrible proplem for people but the best thing you can do when you have money is to allow it working for your.You can contact a good stock broker and put just 50% of the money on shares and stock at the secondary market not public offer and the remaining business on some internet businesses that can make you some good money.
I will advise that you get some training on how to buy domaim names,host websites and doing some other businesses line providing online payment for people.With these,you are on your way to the promised land.
