Donzman,

Do you mean like when Randall Robinson of TransAfrica, a Black American. Began the campaign to start sanctions against South Africa.

And his little campaign ended apartied in that country?

Or maybe you mean like Oprah Winfrey who just built a school in South Africa?

Or maybe you mean like the Nation of Islam who forces their members that can afford it to take tours of Africa?

Or maybe your talking about Dubois the African American who singlehandedly began the first Pan-African conference in 1901?

Maybe you mean Marcus Garvey, from whom the first free African countty (Ghana) named it's Black Star from?

Maybe your talking about the Black Southern Christian Preachers who took Nkrumah in when he became broke and homeless and then Nkrumah went back to Africa and became the first Black leader of the first free country GHANA?

Maybe your talking about the fact that right now in my neighborhood, we keep a big container that is filled with goods every 6 months and shipped to help war torn Liberia.

Maybe you mean all the institutes and associations that are forming between African Diasporans and African continentals?

Your just proving what an idiot you are right now, by not knowing that the ties are getting stronger and stronger between African Diasporans and African Continentals, every day.

HELLO, This board is not REAL life.

And even so, the fact that the African Americans here actually call you names and fight back with you. Is a sign of love.

Whites just condescend to you because they do not give a phuck and treat you like children.

My sister tells me when I am wrong. My enemy keeps allowing me to fall without saying a word.

Good and all but do I need to start listing the contributions of whites to Africa?

Yeah ok, that's what ended the apartheid. Stupid Akata, trying to attribute someone else's hardwork to themselves.

Superman,

What your seeing from my point of view has nothing to do with real life. It has to do with upperclass folks.

In the States there is only so much alloted for Black folks.

Naturally now Continental Africans and African Americans are fighting over those few bucks.

But I am Ghetto. We do not see those type of fights at my level. My pharmacist is Nigerian. She is well loved by all the people because she will just straight up ask you for a little more time. And has given me my meds even when my insurance was bulking, she just charged it to them when they were in a better mood.

My Cableman is Nigerian, gave me his home telephone number, so that he could hook me up personally.

I could go on and on.

Don't confuse what the Educated Big time upper class black nigerians and AA are fighting about.

I don't think it happens like that at the Ghetto Level.

@Donzman

You can list those whites all you want to but I bet you they are the same whites who benefited from colonialism and slavery also from stealing other peoples land. They figure, hey, "we got all we have for free any way, we mine as well give some of it back and write it off as a tax deduction, we won't be really losing anything and those poor Africans will think the world of our donations."

For them it is nothing to give to Africans, for them, it is like giving away water from your tap. Plus, by giving Africans money and goods or what have you, they can make their self look good in your eye's. That way you will not even think about how they were able to afford to give back to you what originally came from you and a whole bunch of other Africans in the first place.

@Drusilla. i wouldn't say AA's love C/A's more than they love their self however I would say they love them as much as they love their self because they know that C/A's are equally their brothers and sisters just like the brothers and sisters they have in America and so forth in other places on the map.

Donzman,

Why do you think whites contribute to Africa?

It is because of African in the Diaspora.

I have seen a white preacher say that Africa owes America money for all that America gives to her.

It's called white liberal guilt. They feel guilty when they look at black folks in America and other places in the Diaspora and so they try to make up for it.

I was just told on another board YESTERDAY by a white person to PLEASE forgive him and PLEASE do not hold it against the whites who are working hard in Jesus name to undo some of the damage done.

Whites did the damage, why should you expect them to NOT be contributing to the clean up.

Or that AA must contribute more than them to the clean up?

Yeah ok, it's blacks in America. When Obasanjo travels from place to place asking for debt releif, it's Akatas that's actually giving him that debt relief.

It's takes a loving heart to be apologetic. Black Americans haven't done much to show they love Africans, they might as well do but they're not showing it. That's all!

In Africa, we don't show love to each other so why should u expect anyone including African-Americans to show us some love.

They have to much too grapple with to be bothered with how the people who sold them into slavery are doing

Donzman,

I agree. Many factors led to the fall of apartied but one factor in particular: American sanctions led to the immeadiate end.

They did not mind putting Mandela in prison for 27 years.

It was when American sanctions came that they started minding.

4play,

I can not agree with your statement that Africans do not show love for one another. I know many African Revolutionaries who are true believers and not just in it for the money.

A lot of them taught me right here in America.

I also used to be the typical African American who thought all Africa needs is a few good walmarts and everything would be better there.

Nigeria seems to be in a category by itself with seeing so much self-hatred and other- hatred of other blacks.

Even Rwanda is more understandable than the mental consistency towards one another that you see here on Nairaland. Sorry to say that.

There is a bigger picture of Africa, than you Nigercentric view would give people the impression of.

You tell me to stop blaming the white people for everything and make good for my self, yet you blame AA's for not showing that they love C/A's. I don't see anywhere where C/A's have done anything for AA's, not even to the point of educating some of those AA's they claim they see saying ignorant things about C/A's, which I think most of the time you make up.

C/A's are so busy holding grudges against all AA's for what the Ignroant AA's so called said bad about them. If Africans like your self would stop to think why some of the AA's say what you and others claim they say and use that as an opportunity to teach them, rather than an opportunity to dislike them and hold grudges, then I could say C/A's have done something for AA's. Right now, I don't see where your kind has done anything for AA's. On the other hand, AA's have done many things for C/A's and they didn't do it by asking white people to donate to the cause they wanted to help, they did what they did out of their own work and from out of their own pockets, that say's a whole lot.

@Drusilla, Does this maybe explain your mentality? Cheesy

Quote
Obama is of course note “Black” he is mixed race, “colored”. I have found that in general, mixed race “colored” women tend to be wary of “Blacks” and will side with White interests, not challenge the racial order. In contrast, mixed race “colored” men tend to be a huge problem and always, always push the racial order. They have the smarts to compete intellectually in a White world, yet they have a huge chip on the shoulder, they take lots of abuse about being half white oreo cookies, not really Black and too many of them go for hate whitey politics or try to insult fight with every White man they meet and try to have sex with every White woman they meet. Harry Belefonte is a classic mixed race “colored” man who dates, marries White women yet pushes ANC Black hate whitey politics. Brian Gumble is another of these types. Regular, working class Black Blacks don’t like these types, but the lower class Black Blacks can be incited to rape and murder by these hate Whitey mixed race “colored” men.

I been telling people for months, that whites believe that Blacks don't do anything, it is the "smart" mixed ones, teaching Blacks. They believe it is their white genes mixing with Blacks, that makes mixed people smart.

Thanks Donzman for going and finding this.

Sorta how I say they be condescendingly talking to Continenal Africans.

4play,

That's terrible. But let's work with this reality you present. We must take all that hatred and prejudice -- and direct it to wards one particular group -- whites. We could have a ad campaign to not hate your black brother but to hate your real enemy who is still doing evil towards Africa. A We must unite African Wide Ad campaign.

Africans can learn unity and love towards one another and direct their hate towards their outside enemy.

And whites have nuclear weapons, all that hate will just be vented as a driving force for Africans but we could never act on it.

I don't know. What do you think will solve the problem of hatred and prejudice in Africa?

Re: Akata?

Donzman,

Haiti and Lousianna were french controlled areas.

Have you ever heard of the Lousianna Purchase Agreement?

It's where the United States purchased Lousianna from Napolean.

The creole and otherwise colored systm that Lousianna had in place was not from Americans and we ended it.

Haiti of course is another country and not part of the United States.

That is why I constantly say that people here are under the wrong impression that the United States has a colored or mixed or anything of that nature category.

We don't, those are the nations of the Carribeans.
Donzman (m)
Re: Akata?

Ok, I'll act like the French weren't white or like Louisiana was always under French rule until the slave trade was abolished even though the purchase was done in 1803. K, I'll play dumb!  Undecided
