i'm sorry, the aviation record of Nigeria is horrible but the first that gets investigated is the customer service of foreign airlines. does that make sense to you??
THANK YOU!!!! LMAO!!! @ his-grace I don't think so.
Cruel as it may sound , thats the reality facing Nigeria and Nigerians today. Whatever we are experiencing today is an effect of the HOLE WE HAVE DUG OURSELVES INTO. It is like the cause and effect thingy or the disease and symptoms thingy. You can treat the symptoms all You want but as long as You don't go for the root cause then all your efforts are merely cosmetic. Precisely!

why all the fuss about National Carrier - does that really define a nation what is Virgin-Nigeria - it's a National Carrier, just because the Virgin is in front doesnt make it otherwise. The president does something good, yet you complain, most Nigerians are so negative minded its is sickening. No wonder we are third world era. he is investigating and BA is not helping this is a different topic from the appalling state of the Aviation industry in Nigeria. you want to discuss that one open up another tread - If you do, please advise on possible solution, rather than just complain - complaining gets boring you know.

How do people reason like a fish so?

LMAO But it is very logical to channel your income towards mending your roof . But it is not as if You can't do the two simulataneously, but if the two are linked , for instance You had a leaking roof which led to a disruption of your power supply, You would want to make sure that the roof is in good condition before You turn back on the power.

i'm sorry, the aviation record of Nigeria is horrible but the first that gets investigated is the customer service of foreign airlines. does that make sense to you?? Why do folks continue to think this way? Aviation record is an home grown problem (totally different entity). I suggest to open a different topic for this issue Nigerian citizens being mistreated my foreign airlines is a major problem, which must be immediately addressed effectively. Or else this small issue will lead to a bigger issue and many of us will pay for it indirectly whether we like it or not. It is a vital responsibility of a true leader (president) to protect the citizens of the nation. Nigerians, please stop degrading our pride as human beings for the sake of the future. You must never never sell each other cheap regardless of what may be going on in Nigeria!

Aviation record is an home grown problem (totally different entity). I suggest to open a different topic for this issue no it's not a different issue, u won't have to fly through british airways, lufthansa etc if nigeria airlines were approved for most international routes. how do u expect Nigerians to be treated if we ourselves don't care about each other.

i don't get your point. the british people do not always fly british airways. of recent the Terminal 5 fiasco has brought down the credibility of british airways. even if there was a nigerian airways still existing, i don't see how that relates to the matter at hand. how many people can nigerian airways lift in a year???

No one is condoning it. Investigations would not solve it either. We know how investigations go in Nigeria. Another committee formed , which to me are all avenues for politicians to make more money. But if we start taking ourselves seriously, maybe other nations would begin to take us seriously.

No disrespect but if i have an option between flying nigerian airways(if it exists) or flying another airline say virgin atlantic, i will not be thinking about national pride or partriotism, i will select the airline that is less likely to fall out from the sky, the airline that will give me good value for money. i took virgin nigeria only once and the entertainment system did not work for a six hour flight. i have been taking BA for years without any hassle.
Point is a nigerian airways carrier could always turn out to carry out worse actions than the british airways then what do we do??? Fly Ghanian Airways ?

i am on Yaradua's side, i think he did the right thing. But the truth has to be told, honestly, nigerians have built quite a reputation for themselves. Every time i travel, i get irritated by some Nigerians, i would rather keep my distance. Not that i don't love my own people and culture, some things i see is not good at all. Also why do people assume that people don't have visa's or green card, gosh, just cause u hear negative things doesnt mean u deem all negative. Same goes for Nigeria, i am one of those that fight for Nigeria and would never put Nigeria down. just cause i hear bad or maybe see negative things doesnt mean i don't respect people that live in Nigeria.
i don't know why people feel the need to tell people to Leave a certain country for another, seriously whether people are happy or sad its their own business. I am happy where i am at, and will also be happy if i choose to live in Nigeria. So it is either u make yourself feel better by telling other people to come back to Nigeria or u are really Jealous of people that got visa's or green card.

Glory be to God that I do not need Green passport to move around, but I've witnessed how Nigerians are being harassed all over the world and I must admit that it is absolutely unbearable.
Let us join hands and protect our pride together. We are only going to be treated the way or manner we've picked to present ourselves to the world.
Nigerians are extremely unique, cool, smart, friendly, loving, caring, hard working and the guys among them will do almost everything to see a beautiful chick smile.

I do not like joining issues with 1/2 ibs brained idiots, if you are where I can get you, I would have given you a dirty slap. From your posts, is likely you are still in High school although I have seen kids with some brain, yours is totally an exception. I wonder how God forgot to include your brain compartment in your blue print. If I can profile you, your type are damn lazy, hides behind others, totally enslaved to frivolities. The reason you are existing is because earth needs to be populated, your type does not add to anything. I closed my eyes to all your posts, I couldn't help it but tell you that you are a joke of a creation. A specimen for separation of stupidity from idiocy. No let me insult u pass this or me and you go turn this forum to personal fight arena. Hope you are beautiful if not then you are an error on God's part or a product of heaven engineering malfunction. Sister I warn you oo. In 2002 when your father was deported did they treat him the same way? (as a "goat") Seun warn this girlooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

That happens to be what, I believe this is mostly about. Not really a Nigerian issue but being made one by many and now Yaradua taking precious time and money out to investigate such, only makes me wonder if he has finished working on securing food and electricity as well as jobs for the masses considering inflation, seen around the world today and the high cost of food. I am a Nigerian and I have never been disrespected or harrassed for being a Nigerian anywhere in the world and I have travelled the same BA for years and had no issues with the airline. If I had my way, I would rather these people submit their petition to the right office and have them deal with it appropriately, this is rule of law actually, rather than Yar adua take out more of the time we do not have much of to deal with matters such as this.

There isn't anything Nigerians are doing or have done in the past that is new to the world, trust me, there are tons of worst countries out there, but you will never hear much about these countries. Why? They are well respected. Why? They do not sell themselves cheap They mostly do not escape to other countries to be slave drivers You can not start rolling on the dusty fool and expect me to invite you into my car for a ride. If you are saying that the problem is us, I agree but do we wait till all Nigerians become saints before we voice out the injustices being done to us? Yaradua is right, if you say he is not right then tell me what is right. If the opportunity almond had was given to other kids down in Nigeria they would have become professors by now. Look at a country where nothing works but we are all happy working hard more than any other nation on the face of earth and you have the audacity to call Nigerians goats. Have u heard that a Nigerian blew up an aircraft, pissed on a plane aisle or threw shit at another passenger? tell me what is it that we are doing to deserve all this insults being meted out to us?. They are afraid of our pride, they would have respected us if we are riding on carmel backs like other black nations but they hate our courage.

While people no agree on how to react to this British Airway problems, I think most people would agree that some form of punishment is appropriate for BA.
Therein lies the difference of opinions: Some people think a Presidential warning would do the trick, while others think market forces should be left to do the trick.
Well, I'm for market forces. Since the London-Lagos route is one of the most lucrative in the whole World, why don't we punish BA by bycotting them and flying other airlines to Nigeria.
It's the most effective action we can take against them, not a Presidential decree.
