@Ibime why do u just beat around, thrashing bunkum about does Amodu need to watch every match to decide who and who will make up his team u had satellite in 1990 . .who cares this issue is simple . . .THROW THE BLOODY CAMP OPEN TO ALL AND SUNDRY let the Odejayis, Yakubus, Harunas et al fight for shirts . . .or what is the meaning of open-camp policy Amodu has paid his dues, anyone that says otherwise is just monkeying around which of our coaches nay Technical advisers havent had problems with our NFA

(1.) Reuben was in sunderland NOT southampton as you claimed when Clemence invited him.
(2.) How do you want Amodu to select? Is it by living in England?
(3.) In all your links including the DVD, Drogba was quoted as saying. NOT direct interview.
(1.) Did he or did he not have Premiership experience? You claim he never played in Premiership. I said he did. I never said he was in the Premiership whilst playing for Naija. You lost. Stop arguing. (2.) He should not have been appointed in the first place. He is an amateur coach who coaches in an amateur league. He has no European experience or access unlike SiaSia or Oliseh who should have been appointed. Do you know how much football has changed? (3.) If the BBC or Reuters staff watch the DVD and affirm that Drogba said these things, then that is good enough for me. If you want, you can order the DVD and watch it yourself. I don't have to. I am surprised that you are questioning these things because this news is six months old. It was well covered by every news agency and newspaper over here. There is no denying that he said what he said because it was caught on camera. Abi you want talk say na film tricks?

^^^I see there is no reason to continue this argument. You have already made several glaring mistakes just on this thread:
(1.) Rueben Agboola never played in the Premiership. WRONG!
(2.) Onigbinde found Joseph Yobo. WRONG AGAIN!
(3.) Femi Opabunmi is a gem. DISGRACEFUL!
(4.) Reuters and BBC staff do not check their info before publishing. WRONG AGAIN!
I'm done arguing because this is going nowhere.

2) Festus Onigbinde gave Yobo big chance to show-case himself after what happen with the big boys in Mali, i mean Oliseh and co.
3) To you Femi may be disbraceful. He istheyoungest player to that tournament and he want to the championship with his head held high after winning Silver boot and Bronze ball in Under-17 world cup.
4) All of them were just quoting

@Akola change your siggy jare . . .abi na everyday u dey play Liverfluke @Ibime u argue too baselessly for my liking . . . . * when did Reuben first feature for Nigeria . . .u cam wiki it up naw haba * only a fool will say Oliseh should be chosen ahead of Amodu ? OLISEH ? HELLO are u out of your mind ? what is his pedigree as a coach ? a mafia yes ! but coaching the national team ? HELL NO . . .only a few coaches stand up to Amodu in Naija- - - -Kadiri Ikhana, James Peter, Joe Erico a few others, not even Amo-taxi should be mentioned in the A-list . . . SIASIA is in a world of his own !* *u prolly didnt know Opabunmi well enough for u to have doubted he was one of the best players, raw talents-wise that either were mismanaged or poorly conducted themselves . . .Opabunmi wasnt too old for the average under 17 team then @Akola do u remember OLUMIDE HARRIS ? maybe someday someone will say he aint no gem

Femi is a gem Yeah, right!!! And I am the Captain of the Brazilian team As for his age, well lets just say believe whatever u want. We all know the truth Matter of fact is that the only Nigerian Eaglet team that had players actually closer to the official age was the trinidad and tobago team assembled by Eguaveon I totally agree with open camp policy. However, open camp policy does not mean a one -goal -policy. It should be based strictly on merit and current form. Why do You think that Odejayi is better than this Enyimba's striker who is banging in the goals both in the league and in the African's champions league. Cos Odejayi plays in the Championship and scored a goal against Chelsea How is he any better than the highest goal scorer in Belgium right now? Why is Joseph Akpala not benefiting from the open camp policy when he has been banging the goals all season. Until someone explains to me why these guys whu have been finding the back of the net consistently were ignored and Kayode who just scored a goal against Chelsea (first goal since about 26 matches) was picked over them, I would still be questioning his inclusion.

I mentioned Olumide Harris because even tho he underachieved he still made his mark in the naija footie scene, something which the likes of uchenna would not agree with . . . @Dr Kit Why is the Adekola family so unlucky? I hope you remember late Ireti( of yoruba films). Adeolu is in another world. He's 100 times better than Yeking. The guy just quit footbal for family reason(s). I just can't understand. @All Chief Onigbinde has been in FIFA and CAF technical committee before some DSTV guys were even born. He had ealier handled Trinidad National team, a very goodfriend to Jack warner. Who was Naija's female politician that Chief Onigbinde ws dating? [This is not for you Dr Kit ]

GET A LIFE DUDE . . . its becoming annoying . . . why are you attacking him just because he doesn't believe Opabunmi is a gem. Even if he won an award meant for teenagers as a full grown man, how does that make him a gem. Why isnt he reporducing this form today? Fabregas got an award like that 2 years later and is showing it today. why can't you admit that Opabunmi like Odejayi is a mediocre striker unfit for the national team of Nigeria. If a player is not good, he is not good. The championship is a poor league, If he can't score there, how can he score against world class defenders?

Was it not the same Championship that produced Ashley Young, who within few months, get called up to england team and make the list for the best 11 players in the premiership. Was it not a lower league time side that knocked United out of carling cup? Was it not Barnsley that knocked Chelsea out?

@Akolawole
Ahsley Young went to Aston Villa in January of last year from Watford who were in the premiership at that time. David Nugent is a good example of a championship player who hasn't made the cut at the high level. Now the difference between David and Kayode is that whilst david scored lots of goals at the championship level, Kayode has done so infrequently at that level. If i go by your own analogy, Micheal Mifsud who scored two goals to knockout ManUtd in the Carling cup and Brian Howard who scored the winning goal against Liverpool are great players just because they managed to bang in a goal once against top opposition.
If Kayode is as good as you say he is, he should score more against poor defenders and be consistent,then we would be certain he is good enough for the super eagles. Remember, we shouldn't celebrate mediocrity.
He is competeing against Yakubu,Martins, Odemwengie,Uche etc for positions upfront. This saga reminds me of Ben Akwuegbu's spell with the super eagles. The guy couldn't even tear the austrian teams nets with goals yet found his way into the eagles and only managed a goal or two before his forced retirement.

Hehehe . . . . Akwuegbu. I remember I went to one Super Eagles game @ Loftus Road. I think it was against either Paraguay or Jamaica, I can't remember. Akwuegbu was playing. The guy was so poor, me and my friends started chanting "Akwuegbu off, Akwuegbu off!". Soon enough, our whole section of the ground started chanting the same thing and they had to take him off quick quick. Even that Okocha's friend was playing, the one that ended up at Bolton and didn't play a single game. I don forget in name. I think it was Ikechukwu Kalu. That guy was wastepipe. No, but seriously, there must be at least 20 guys ahead of Odejayi in the pecking order. From Martins to Yak, Utaka, Uche, Odemwingie etc, even Anichebe. Striker is not our problem at all. We need wingers.

Maybe his Dad( Pastor Odejayi) bribed Amodu or has helped Amodu. Throw the camp open even to the Ajegunle 11

Abeg,what has the performance of a Nigerian at Under-17 level to do with anything? In a country notorious for age cheats,such youth competitions don't count.Why won't he do well when he is playing against kids young enough to be his children? If he was really that good,he could have taken his exploits to senior level.He barely got a regular shirt at Grasshoppers. Abeg,who remembers Sammy Ayorinde?The Father of All Mystery call-ups! Another player that comes to mind is Chikelue Iloenyosi. . . .he had allegedly retired from football and was working as an auto importer when he was still being called up for the national team.

@Akolawole
He played for just under 6 months. He was awesome in the championship and made the grade in the premiership. However he had to play at least 8 more months beofre getting into the Three Lions squad. Ashley was a teenager in the championship and should get better ( and did get better ) with age but Odejayi is 4 years from retirement (officially) and CANNOT possibly improve to get ahead of Utaka,Yakubu, Martins, Uche I, Uche K and Odemwingie in the Eagles striking perking order.
Now Odejayi has not bamboozled the championship defenders with goals to even warrant a call-up. Remember just a good performance in the championship doesn't necessarily mean class. It just means potential to go up and do better ( ask david Nugent). Now Danny Shittu plays in the championship and is able to make the team of the season. He has played in the premiership and can be considered to be a decent player given his showing in the nations cup. But Odejayi? cannot make top 5 strikers in the championship, yet gets into the super eagles just because Amodu is too lazy to watch Nigerian League games and NFA is too poor to send him to Europe to look for other strikers doing well in mediocre leagues like the championship.
