How Do You Call A Person From Niger?

Is it also Nigerian you call them? Or Nigerien because it's a French speaking country, but since you are speaking English do you call them Nigerian. Also do French people call people of Nigeria Nigerien like people from Niger?

People ask me this question all the time

HAHAHA!!!
I was born and used to live in France and
that was always an issue. I hated when people
called me "Nigèriene", mais je vien pa de Niger moi!!
I used to get really angry.
In English, there really isn't a difference, I mean
a person from Nigeria is NigeriAN and a person from
Niger is NigeriEN. Same thing in French. Except that in
French it's a matter of pronounciation and the accent on the "e".
NigériANE versus NigèriENE,
