Togo and Arsenal's Emmanuel Adebayor (pictured) was the only African to be included in the Professional Footballers' Association's Premier League team of the year.
He was also the only African on the shortlist for the PFA's player of the year alongside his Arsenal team-mate Cesc Fabregas, eventual winner Christiano Ronaldo of Manchester United, Liverpool duo Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard and Portsmouth's David James.
But has Adebayor really been the best African player in the English Premier League this season?
Has the striker simply grabbed the limelight because of the number of goals he has scored this season?
Who is your top African player in the Premier League this season?
To be fair, Africa is not a country, but a continent, and, as such, is just as worthy of a 'top player' vote as any 'European player' of the year award equivalent - why not discuss it?
Top African player this year has got to be The Yak.
Or Joe Yobo.
Or Stevie Pienaar.
Or Big Vic Anichebe.
