I am 38 years young. I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in May 07,Had several surgeries to remove the masses. I know have to start Chemo therapy and then Radiation treatment. Has any one of my sisters experienced this ordeal and how is treatment in Nigeria? I am in the US. Any Suggestions?

Thanx for the support Wendy. We have" Race for the cure" here in the States.
Ladies it really helps to talk about it. We must all fight together if we are going to beat this Giant. It is a growing problem nationally.
IT IS NOT A DEATH SENTENCE!!! Early detection is Key.
Check your Breast girls, And don't ignore abnormalities. If it doesn't feel right,it probably isn't.

My friends as we can see this is not only a problem for woman. Both MEN And CHILDREN are affected as well.
We have to educate ourselves. Death is final, but Knowlege is POWER. Early Detection is Key! Leading Cancers in Women, Men, & Children
FOR WOMAN: Breast cancer is the leading cancer for women in the US. Lung cancer is the second most common form of cancer and colorectal cancer is third among white women. The number 2 and 3 cancers are reversed among black and Asian/Pacific Island women. For all women, the fourth leading cancer is cancer of the uterus.
FOR MEN: Prostate cancer is the leading cancer for men in the US. It is followed by lung cancer and then colorectal cancer. The fourth most common cancer is race-dependent. It is bladder cancer for white men, cancer of the mouth and throat for black men; and stomach cancer for Asian/Pacific Island men.
FOR CHILDREN: The most common malignancies in childhood are leukemia, followed by brain tumors, and lymphoma

I'm so sorry about what u are going through mizzlanae, a friend of mine whose mother was diagnosed with breast cancer ten years ago had a lumpectomy and then a mastectomy, and she has been CANCER FREE ever since. She also has several support groups and friends around her, and she is very much a role model to us all. PS. Hers was detected very early. I wish u the best of luck.

Does lump in the breast indicates that someone has cancer? What are the signs?

Do you mean a single lump
or
Lumps? (your plural is hard to pin down).
Anyways, cause sometimes many lumps in your breasts CAN be normal, especially around period time. but, a single one may be or not be harmful.
The best way is to have it checked out to see whether it is malignant or not malignant. Only via tests done by your doctor through the lab can this be established.
