Just wondering how much a mobile phone say costs in nigeria compared to here (just for reference say a phone with a colour screen and a basic camera (maybe a sony ericsson T610) and then say a Nokia 7260 The sony costs $200 (about N20000) here outright (so you can use prepaid) and the Nokia costs $500 (about N50000) I ask because I'm wondering if it's cheaper to get my dad to pick up me a new phone in nigeria than buy it here (my phone has decided it needs to have a over bright section in the screen and I really can't be bothered getting it fixed) for those unfamilar with the model number here is the phones (so you can see a picture and details) http://www.telstra.com.au/mobile/mobiles/phones/details.cfm?phones_id=29357(T610) http://www.telstra.com.au/mobile/mobiles/phones/details.cfm?phones_id=31670(Nokia 7260)

The fraud factor, heh? Those two sites advertise regularly in the local papers and are reputed to be dependable. However, you can use those sites to check the prices online, then advice your dad to buy the phones in a local shop. On ShopForLess, the Sony Ericcson T610 costs 24,800 naira and the 7260 costs 44,600 at this time (just checked). One is cheaper and one is more expensive .

so a little more expensive for the T610 and a little less for the 7260, though warranty could be an issue...

You might want to try checking on eBay... Phones sometimes can be real cheap if you are lucky...
