NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE
RECRUITMENT INTO THE NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE
Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified persons for recruitment into
the Superintendent, Inspectorate and Assistant Cadres of the Nigeria Immigration
Service.
GUIDELINES FOR RECRUITMENT
CATEGORY A
SUPERINTENDENT CADRE
Applicants must possess a minimum of a first Degree from a recognized University.
CATEGORY B
INSPECTORATE AND ASSISTANT CADRE
a. Inspector of Immigration
Applicants must be holders of HND obtained from a recognized
Polytechnic
b. Assistant Inspector of Immigration
Applicants must be holders of NCE/OND obtained from a recognized
Institution or GCE A’Level in two subjects obtained at a sitting or
three subjects obtained at two sittings.
c. Senior Immigration Assistant
Applicants must be holders of NCE/OND obtained from recognized
institutions or GCE A’Level in two subjects obtained at a sitting or
three subjects obtained at two sittings.
d. Immigration Assistant-1
Applicants must be holders of SSCE or its equivalent with credits in
not less than three subjects including English language.
e. Immigration Assistant-II
Applicants must be holders of SSCE or its equivalent with credit in
not less than three subjects in English language. In the case of GCE
O’level, applicants must possess five passes at two sittings including
English language.
f. Immigration Assistant-III
Applicants must be holders of S. 75 from government approved
secondary schools or JSSCE.
CATEGORY C
PROFESSIONALS/ARTISANS
Candidates will also be recruited into various professions such as
a. Refrigerators and Air-condition Technicians, b. Generator Mechanics,
c. Carpentry and Joinery, Painting and Decoration, d. Welding, e. Mason,
f. Electrical Technician/Engineer, g. Plumber, h. Electronic, i. Motor Mechanic
Applicants must be holders of S.75 from government approved secondary schools
or JSSCE in addition to Trade Test Certificates
2. i. Any certificate or qualification not declared or tendered and accepted
at a recruitment centre is not acceptable after recruitment.
ii. Applicants must be Nigerians by birth
iii. Applicants must be medically fit and must produce certificate of
medical fitness from a government hospital.
Candidates with any of the following problems need not apply; Short
sight, Ear Problem, Previous major orthopedic operation, Flat foot,
Fracture, Stammering or any Natural deformity.
iv. Applicants must not be less than 1.68 metres for males and 1.65
metres for females.
v. Applicants must note be above 35 years of age at the time of
recruitment.
vi. Applicants must be free from previous conviction by a court of law or
tribunal on criminal grounds.
vii. Applicants who are computer literate, have an added advantage.
3. METHOD OF APPLICATION
i. Qualified candidates should download application forms from the
NIS website @ www.immigration.gov.ng
ii. Completed application forms must be accompanied with the
following documents:
• Photocopies of Birth Certificates/Age declaration
• Photocopies of credentials
• A letter of Identification, signed by the Chairman/Secretary of the
candidate’s Local Government Area.
• Two recent Passport Photographs
4. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS
All completed application forms, accompanied with the relevant documents
should be submitted not later than 11th of October, 2006 as follows;
i. Superintendent Cadre: The Director/Secretary, Civil Defence, Prisons
and Immigration Services Board, Gwagwalada, Abuja.
ii. Inspectorate and Assistant Cadre: Nigeria Immigration Service
Headquarters, Abuja and all NIS State Commands.
iii. Names of shortlisted candidates in the Inspectorate and Assistant
cadre and Professionals/Artisans will be displayed at the various State
Command Hqtrs.
All shortlisted candidates for Superintendent cadre are to attend an interview at
Civil Defence, Prisons and Immigration Services Board, Gwagwalada, Abuja, while
the Inspectorate and Assistant cadre and Professionals/Artisans shall attend the
interview at NIS Headquarters, Abuja and the various NIS State Commands from
the 16th – 18th of October, 2008.

you are probably the only one that can help me right now.
i've finally applied to the immigration service after what seem like impossible
problem is that i don't know when the names are schedule to be release.
can you help???
