i asked my doctor this question , his response: because they eat a lot of sea animals.

i did a litte research on the topic: "sea animals or  water animals", and not with particular interest to calabar girls and these were the findings:

A new study adds to evidence that drugs in the waste flowing from sewage-treatment plants is ending up in fish.

Three species living downstream of a water-treatment plant in northern Texas had accumulations of the active compounds in two popular antidepressants in their brains, livers and muscles, says Bryan Brooks of Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

Brooks tested bluegill, black crappie and channel catfish for Prozac's active ingredients - fluoxetine and norfluoxetine - and for sertraline and norsertraline, found in Zoloft. "We detected all of the compounds in every tissue of the fish we tested," Brooks told the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America in Seattle, Washington, this week. (december 2003)

Highest levels were in the fish's brains and livers. The muscles commonly eaten in fish fillets had much lower levels. "You'd have to eat a lot of fish to get a therapeutic dose of these compounds," says Brooks.

my conclusion:
these compounds are anti depressants, and we all know that a depressed soul is less prone to sex or will experience very low libido.

in my humble opinion, if you eat reasonable amount of water animals or have a high level of these substances in your body, very likely you will be sexually active irrespective of your tribe.

I love Calabar girl b'because they are very good in anything e.g cooking romantic and in bed they are very very good.

You are definitely right as regard the "sexually active part of it ", in that, there´s no given tribe that inherited this trait per se . Though other aspect might be taking into consideration for example, " the Masai are noted to being slim and tall. This could have been as a result of the wheather, environment, food or genetics. I wouldnt like to postulate or make a  conclusion on these regard since it involves a given tribe hence pretty sensitive.
My conclusion on the whole matter is that, perhaps my Calabarian sisters, are not what most Nigerians think, They are definite like any other african girl on the street. It might simply be mere prejudice- be it (Positive or negative).
In Africa, almost all tribes are tacked with some "unjustified" thoughts or views e.g the Yoruba, the Hausas, the Ibos, the tivs etc.

The Calabar Forum in London is meeting on 1st March 2008 by 5.00pm. the venue is 18A Gilesmead Court, 79 Camberwell Church St,SE5 7LN, London.

It will be holding its inaugural meeting there.
