Child Day Care Centre - Port Harcourt

  Hello Everyone,

I have a business idea and i need everyone to chip in the advs and disadvs of this idea.
I'm thinking of getting a standard Child day care centre in the hear t of Port Harcourt city.

What do you think?

Good idea, you want ideas or mainly advantages and disadvantage of your idea?
Advantage
you will make good money of you get it right
you will feel good about your business if you get it right
(I'm sure you have a passion for kids or studied something along the line, child psychology?)
You will be recommended to many many parents around PH

Disadvantages
if you get it wrong you waste loads of money and
become frustrated



Location Location Location that's the very first think of
there are so many care centre nowadays but if you get one close to
business districts e.g where many bank staffs, office workers and mainly
white collar employees, that way the wont have to take a de-tour when going to work
plus they tend to stick with the 'rules'
make sure you workers share your passion not just doing it for the money
and the setting should be comparable to anywhere in the world!

Thanks alot. I do intend to do a pick up and drop off services [as the case may be] for parents who would prefer that .  But safety of those kids is another thing am worried about. I'd really hate for kidnappers to get a whole bus full of kids. That would be much difficult to deal with as compared to if they were kidnapped from their parents [ not that i wish for that]

You have really given me lots to think about. Esp having the workers share the same passion. There are lots of things i need to consider but am really not bothered about the nos of daycare around. I don't think we can ever have too many because kids are born everyday. And the way i look at our society now, every mother is becoming a career woman.

What i intend to do though is go into partnership with a Child pschologist or someone with a degree in that area. Am biz management/finances inclined and am thinking I can establish this center and have my partner run the ground work whil i handle the running, finances and up keep of the center.

Am also thinking of taking a 6months child counseling and psychology trainning

You are surely going to make it in Port Harcourt but u must keep a good standard.
