During boot up(just after the BIOS boot screen and before the windows logo screen shows), press F8 and select the safe mode option you want.

Just like
koseepaaro said, you could attempt a log on using the default administrator account created during installation(assuming you don't have a password set on it after the installation). This can be done in either normal or safe mode boot up.
- In the normal boot mode, when the welcome screen is displayed, press
"CTRL + ALT + DEL". This brings up the classic logon on prompt where you can enter a username and password.
- In the username field, enter
"Administrator" and hit the
enter key, leaving the password field blank. If you have no password set on the account, you would be logged on with administrative privileges.
- Next, you would have to reset the password set on the account by your younger one. Going through the
"Control Panel -> User Accounts" would still require you enter the "unknown password". So, do this:
- Right-click on
"My Computer" icon and select
"Manage" - On the console that opens up, select
"Local Users And Groups" on the left hand panel
- Next select "Users" folder
- In the list usernames, right-click on the one you want to have its password reset and select "Set Password"
- Click on
"Proceed" on the information that pops up. Leave the passwords fields (New and Confirmation) blank or
enter a new password(one that you can REMEMBER) and hit
"ENTER" - You have just reset the password on that account. Log out as administrator and login with you usual account.
Now, try this and let's know how it goes. If you have a password set on the default administrator account, then I'll give another procedure to get over the password using a 3rd party application on
one condition. . .Though shall not use or share the method with any one that could/would compromise another persons system!Cheers!
