A leading global energy Company in the upstream sector of the oil and gas industry, requires a suitable individual to fill the position of Communications Manager.
Reporting to the General Manager, Government and Public Affairs, the ideal candidate will be a Nigerian with significant working experience, preferably in the oil and gas sector. He/she will have the requisite technical skills, robust experience and exposure in media relations, events management, and corporate affairs.
The suitable candidate should be a mature, result-oriented self-starter, who possesses the following qualifications and attributes:
� A Bachelor�s degree in the Social Sciences, with a minimum of Second Class-Lower Division from a reputable university. Relevant post-graduate degrees will be an added advantage.
� Membership, including Fellowship status, in relevant professional bodies will also be an added advantage.
� A minimum of fifteen (15) years� cognate experience in the media and advertising industry, with core competencies in public relations management, crises communications and planning at executive management level.
� Excellent knowledge of the Oil and Gas sector, with specific emphasis on the media and Nigeria�s political/economic environment.
� Proven ability to proactively identify local and global issues relevant to the industry and develop issues management document for use by executives and others within the Company.
� Track record of proficiency at exploiting major positive business milestones and achievements for promoting Company�s business.
� Excellent ability to develop and present holding statements, organise question-and-answer sessions, talk points and speeches on different subjects, which may have potential for reputation challenges for the Company.
� Excellent report writing, editing, interpersonal and communications skills.
� Proficiency in the use of computer applications for editing, PowerPoint presentations and word processing.
� Strong leadership and management skills, as well as, the ability to work with people of diverse background and interests.
