Is There A Difference Btw The Word "i Love You" And "i'm In Love With You"
« on: May 07, 2008, 01:30 PM »

i have never been told im in love with you before - i'm just curious towards the terminology between the two.

I think the feelings behind "I'm in love with you" are stronger and more intense than the ones behind "I love you." Some people casually throw around the phrase "I love you," but I don't think someone would say "I'm in love with you" unless he/she really meant it.

what do u guys think?

I love you ------- Its an expression.

I am in love with you-------- Every part of my being reverberates with your very existence . I am a fool for you because am consumed by you

yup, from my own perspective there's a diff.

i love you can be said to just anyone.

but you can't tell just anyone am in love with you. its more intense and it means you really into that person.

in my own perspective

I love you can be said by anyone.

Am in love with you means every part of your body is attracted to you.

I believe there is a  difference( although someone can lie about both),

So I can love someone, but still NOT in love with the person, It's kind of complicated, especially in today's world, LOL,

Check out existing thread at below:

Difference Between 'Love' and 'Like'
www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-259.0.html

@topic

Both are very different.

"I love you" is what you express telling a word.

"I am in love with you" is what how you feel so love emotionally, more strong affectionate intense inside you.

Don't be like a robot that has no 5 senses to tell the difference!!!

can see any diffrence as they are both very boring words,  some people use those words to get down with someone,

they are just words and don't even hold that much importance.

so if you were in a relationship and he said to you 'babe . . . . . .  I think am falling in love with you'

you'll see no importance in that?

I love you is more trite. People say it all the time without meaning it. Naija guys especially can use it as a pickup or yahooze line.

I'm in love with you is way more serious and shows a level of commitment. Someone wouldnt normally say this unless they're feeling some deep emotion. Internet sweet talking doesnt count.

@ Ariblaze, i think u cud be wrong with the quote that one being commited to the word "i love u", may not have some physical overtures?, i totally doubt that.

Yes I am in love wit u would have sexual connotations as on d case of marriage or a non platonic relationship. I love you however is all embracing would refer to persons who 4 instance u can't sleep wit like siblings etc.

Do you really believe a man means it when he says he loves u , hahahahehehe.

Believe me i don't believe in Love, maybe IN lust but love is soo overrated!!! don't get me started on Love because its just a complete waste of time. and to answer your question, if a man says he Loves me,i will Laugh because it doesnt make any sense. Men don't fall in Love, they fall in so  many other things but not love,  thats my opinion, iF Love works for u , cool!

There is a big difference between the two.
I love you can be said to anyone e.g i love my mum.
Am in love with you on the other hand is not just for anyboby, at the moment the only person am in love with is my boyfriend. There is really a big difference.
