Its normal sex but the difference is that you abstain at certain times of the month, according to the woman's ovulation period. I learnt about it in high school.

According to this theory, a woman is more likely not to get pregnant at certain times of the month, and she can know exactly when simply by observing herself. Temperature readings, body symptoms, etc all indicate when safe sex is possible and when its not.

Its like the opposite of trying to get pregnant by having sex on your fertile days. Just like you track your ovulation, you also track your fertile periods and avoid sex on those days.

The Billings method used to be touted as a good alternative to other forms of family planning, but I really don't know if its as reliable as they say, though the OP said its working for him/her.

Personally I think there's a danger of consistently getting pregnant every year if someone relies solely on this method. However, maybe the OP will explain more. Because it seems to me like he's trying to get people into hot water.
