Bandwidth Measurement Between Two Nodes
« on: May 11, 2008, 12:44 PM »

i've always searched for a tool that can actually measure bandwidth between two network nodes, but i've not found any,

most of the tools i've heard of always comes with hardware, examples of such hardware include cisco boxes, expand and riverbed appliance

but i need a software that can actually measure the bandwidth, i'm not talkin of measuring the bandwidth between two nodes,

anybody, please, thanx

If you want to measure a link's bandwidth, just like you said, you NEED a hardware tool.

Softwares out there only measure network bandwidth utilization, and there are a lot of them.

Uhm, there's something I did not quite get:

Ok.

Well, I don't know of any software for that but I'll ask around from some other "core network administrators" if they have a clue.

@ lordimpaq
my request is similar to that of yours. I need any ware (soft and hard) that can measure the bandwith I am being supplied by my ISP. I want to be sure d ISP is giving me what I'm paying for. all the ones I have only measure the bandwidth of the machine on which they are installed. I want to know the bandwidth of the whole network.
Thanks

God will help us.
