Intro: Nne m, Ezigbo nne m, mummy, mumiiiiii, mama, mmilimma, mother…
If I could recall the day you gave birth to me Aaah, Eeeh, you must have cried for me to be You took me up in your arms and gave me suck The life – giving milk freely flowed without a buck
As I grew up, you pondered, watched and taught Ready to guide and caution when the webs caught When I fell ill you carried me on your gentle back Off to the hospital you trekked without a pack
With such overflowing love for me displayed How can I ever repay for the role you played? You taught me love, giving and compassion Never to live in the present without the passion
You advised on friends, you talked of women! “Two things ruin a man”, you said, “Wine and women”! (the 2 Ws) How can I ever let you down throughout this livelihood? For ‘tis because of you I respect and value womanhood.
