Am Scared, Could I Be Pregnant?
« on: May 13, 2008, 11:27 AM »

I had my period on the 2nd of may 2008, it finished on the 7th and i had sex on the 9th to 11th of same month.

Is it possible I could be pregnant? My menstrual cycle is 26 days.i checked an ovulation update which said i could be a bit fertile on 11th. Am scared because i don't want any prenancy for now yet

You don’t have to call me names to pass any message to me. To me nairaland is a place one expresses his or herself especially when you are not sure of something, am not on a romance section, am on health and I did not ask the question out of fun but is something am worried about. Maybe I miscaculated this thing about cycle, but the fact of the matter is I have not be in it for long. And if the worse happened I know it’s a welcome development by the person am involve with I don’t sleep around either.

Like ( Chookym) I will not stress myself too much again just waiting to confirm my fear.

Sperm can stay alive inside you for up to 5 days so yes it is possible. Get a test done, its the quickest way to tell, or you cld just wait to see if your period comes

That don't really workthere is still at least 35% chances of getting pregnant
Those safe period thingy don't work at all.

@poster,

and its too late now to take the morning after pill

Even if u take the pregnancy test kit with the stick . . it won't be accurate because its still early to tell.
u can only be accurate when its a week before u due next period.

Not trynna be mean but at this point u really cannot do anything but wait . . unless u go for like a blood test.
better luck next time . . use protection.

Stop beating yourself up. Your period was 2nd that includes that you have 11 or more days to your ovulation. Probability of fertility on this day or any day before you ovulation is close to zero if not zero. During your menstruation, your loss of blood indicates that the eggs/ova initially released from the fallopian tube have been contaminated with blood and are now corpulses having burst out of excess blood intake. At this stage you under go blood flow which you call menstruation/period, the female is free within 11 days of this exercise, until a new egg/ova is released at ovulation, she is free as hell. So my dear according to your timing and calculation, you are as free as a bird, but take caution cause pregnancy is not the thing to be feared alone, infection could be worse.

For a 26month cycle females
from the first day of your period, you have 12 days to your ovulation
this means after your 5 or 6 days of blood flow you can have sex without rubber and no fertility
From  the 19th day you can also do so but with caution cause at this day you are expecting your period.
the caution i mean is "don't stain his bed with it"

be careful and God bless

Exactly. I took in for my first baby, when i calculated to be on the safe period. So i believe everything is in God's hands, man proposes, God disposes you know. In either case my dear, take it as it comes, it's not the end of the world, rather, it's the beginning of good things to come your way. I'm happy you said you don't sleep around, so move on with your life. Cheers.
