Surf's Up

watched today in my free time

i never gave much thought to watching this animation,

with the whole Penguin-love explosion after Happy Feet.

But i kinda liked it, some parts almost brought me to tears. . .

The Animation was Great. . . .water being so difficult to animate, this nailed it Grin

gotta admit i nearly fell asleep in some parts but the soundtrack was great.

Bill Murray!!! Cheesy

the international: Clive Owen, Naomi Watts

started well, got boring for me towards the end, there was a good action scene but apart from that nothing really that interesting about it, i give it 5 out of 10.

I started watching The Reader last week but I quit in the first quater of the movie, just didn't hold my interest. I might try again later.

Saw Doubt on monday night. Fantastic, especially with the way it ended. My colleagues I went to see it with were pissed because they wanted to watch Notorious instead but I made them watch Doubt. They thought the ending was useless but that was the best part for me. The only part of the movie I didn't get was the relevance of Phillip Seymour's long fingernails. And I noticed that throughout the movie, no one mentioned the words "rape" or "sex".
Viola Davis was disgusting!!!

Saw Changeling last night also. I liked it except for the lame bit where they mentioned the Oscars. Like, can you kiss any more @ass? Undecided

saw 'Valkyrie' yesterday. Twas kinda nice. tom cruise was kinda convincing. . .
Funny part was where he raised him amputated arm and hailed Hitler. .

Nice sha, but the writers added some extra stuff to the movie, to make it mo interesting,

Saw 'thick as thieves' too. Atonio Banderas and Morgan freeman. The story was kinda lame. looked like something i've seen before.

Should see RocknRolla, the reader this weekend,

Lmao the event happened around the Oscars of that year (1920s) so Im not surprised it was added. After all it's a true life story.

The Reader's garbage. Why bother? Where did you stop?

I would have sooner accepted Doubt being nominated for Best Pic then bloody Reader. As for Viola, lol she was excellent. It was between her and Angie for best actress IMO

Abeg, they were ass kissing. The film could have happened during/before/after an earth quake, why didn't they "slip it in"? Her acting was convincing though, especially the bit  at the psychiatric hospital.

For Reader, I stopped somewhere around the time he started reading all sorts of books to her and she would either laugh cry or portray some kind of emotion afterwards. I was guessing she couldn't read but the initial plot was dragging on too long and I couldn't wait to quit watching and bite my nails instead. I quit watching but because of all the award hype, I have to get back to it later.

Viola was in only two scenes for Doubt, one speaking, the other not speaking. She really nailed it for her to have bagged a nomination for that. What other movies has she been in? Was she the one in Shaft?

Like the unnecessary hurricane in TCCOBB?  Tongue

I never watched Shaft so I dont know. She is on alot of Law & Order episodes though.

If black americans esp the women want respect in Hollywood they need to avoid the ghetto movies like a plague.

I think she was the mother of the chap that was killed in Shaft, not so sure though.

I agree with you on the Black Americans. Sometimes, you can't really blame them though, ghetto movies might be what makes them survive as blacks get very few roles in all these Oscar type movies.
